I have been stitching for years… Quaker Samplers, & Reproduction Samplers, museum pieces, and plenty of smalls… prims. Love your name…. Happy to have found you…. Joyful joyful ….you are “ come to the quiet” and embrace yourself…if mankind would do this more we could have a new horizon …. Blessings… Sharon … in Ohio

Enjoyed seeing your projects. Caron Watercolors is generally used for needlepoint rather than cross stitch. Caron Waterlilies is usually what's used in cross stitch.

Hi Susan, thanks for visiting! Ok, I will need to get some plastic canvas or something to use that Watercolors with. I checked out the same color in Waterlilies and it just didn't have the vibrancy of the Watercolors, so I went for that instead. So now I'll poke around to look for something creative to do with it. Thanks for the tip 👍and happy stitching!

Hi Nitya, Caron's WaterLilies is used in counted canvas needlepoint. Ive used it on 18 ct canvas but I would guess a 10 count Aida will work. the strands don't separate, I believe. I'm loving the DMC 221, such a lovely shade.

Thank you for the tip! Is your first name Keene or Lugene? I'll need to find another fiber / material for that needlepoint. I want to stitch everything in 221 now! It's such a surprisingly beautiful color. Do you have any favorite DMC colors?

@@DaybreakStitchery My first name is Lugene and last name is Keene 😊I have so many favorite colors, seems like every time I stitch something new, I find a new favorite.

Lovely as always. I love the idea of a gardening segment. I am a seasoned gardener but it is always inspiring to see other people's gardens and have some garden chat. it will be interesting to hear about what is appearing in your very distinct seasons in Chicago. And it is nice to hear about a passion that someone has, whatever it might be. With your Beatrix Potter I think it looks lovely already, I have so much to catch up on with all the links you put in. Always great to have links to follow from you. I will say the idea of filling the background sounds great but I worry that the initials might be hard to see but maybe that is the point? or alternatively having a lighter green nearer the initials could help with that. But it already looks lovely. You have so many projects but you always make so much progress! Have a lovely week, Catherine

Thanks Catherine! I like that tip on using lighter green and am thinking that's what I'll do. I have an update on this sampler this week and it's a big one. I added a garden segment too! I loved seeing pics of your new digs in the recent videos. Hope you've had some good stitching time. We'll chat soon about plans!

Love how the barn wood fabric allows colors to pop! Beautiful stitching as usual. Thanks for sharing. As far as gardening talk, I prefer flosstubes in which folks talk about whatever interests them and has them excited. I’m always open to learning something new or being reminded of something I’ve forgotten. So if you want to talk about gardening go for it! Also I appreciate how you emphasized using your floss stash and then showed us how beautiful work can be when we don’t obsess over getting the “right” colors.

Hi Joni! Ah thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving these lovely comments. Barnwood is just so beautiful, one of my fave fabrics. I binged on some fabric this month but hoping to rely on stash beyond that! It's kind of fun to play around with different options. Are you stitching on anything fun these days?

Love the George Takei quote and thanks for the beatrix potter link. I love going to the lake district it's always a very relaxing place for me.

I'd love to see it some time! I've heard loads about it. I found another dragon to stitch 😬😀 I'll show it in an upcoming video!

Beautiful finishes. I really like that quote from George Takei. All those little motifs are so cute ☺️ I love what you did with that Beatrix companion sampler. Such a great idea Loving that beautiful green on blue fabric for Mother Nature 😊 I can’t wait to start Sarah’s pattern. I haven’t decided on the fabric yet. Last think I want is another SAL but should we start a SAL for pansy? 😅 Yes to the garden chat. I don’t have a garden but I love to hear all about yours I don’t think you need to fill in the rest of that space with leaves. Maybe a couple of tiny bees and butterflies
@DaybreakStitchery
@DaybreakStitchery Год назад
Ah thanks Maryam and of course YES we should start a SAL! Pansy comes from the French word pensée, which means thought. It was considered a flower of love, affection, romance. Maybe we could do #ThinkingofYouSAL? Or some people think they look like happy faces, so maybe #SmilingFacesSAL? I was also thinking of seeing if there were any poems featuring pansies and maybe taking a line from that. Let's think on that! Do you think you'll kit it up in Sulky?

@@DaybreakStitchery I love both tags. Let’s come up with the month we want to start. I’ll play with a sulky conversion. I like to stitch it in sulky if possible

I love what you did with the BP Companion sampler and the thoughtful way you put in inspirational environmentalists! I think it looks “done” the way it is 😍

Yes please on the garden chat! Nature With Nitya? 😀 The finishes are stunning. I agree that the Beatrix Potter piece would look great either way, sorry no help there. The Barnwood parade convinced me, I need some of that fabric in my life. I can’t wait to see Pansy on the green! I think Greenwashing is the first one I’ll stitch from the Earth Day collection. When will that be…? May is gift stitching month for both of us, let’s go!

Oh, and I think The History Chicks podcast has an episode on Beatrix Potter that’s really good as well.
