Excellent. I've used this video 2X over the past few years to restart my ice maker. This is the only person (video) who knows how to reset the Ice maker on a GE Profile refrigerator.
Oh my goodnessssss, this video literally just brought tears to my eyes!!!! I have the exact fridge, but the top ice maker stopped working about a year ago (maybe longer). I just copied everything you did and watched in shock and amazement as my ice maker kicked into gear again!!! I never would have known to push the water crushed and cubed buttons all at once, and then push the freezer button to go to 100, and push the door alarm to drop it down to 99, and then press the light button to make it go to 1. I still have no idea what it all meant, but it is magic!!!! Thank you SO much for this video!! To have the top ice maker work again after all this time is going to be surreal. 😭🥰
Omgosh, I’m as happy as you are!!! My ice machine just stopped working today!!! Although it was only a day, it was hell!! 🤣 Can’t believe you went as long as you did! Thank God for this gloved man!!! And shame on GE for not making this common knowledge! I scoured their site, their RU-vid channel, I found not a single thing about the touch screen! Such a simple solution... but Instead they want you to replace the ice maker or make a service call! They gotta make sure they are making more money. As if the $50 water filter isn’t enough. Ok sorry Rant over. I do really like my fridge... except for these two things!
Thanks for your helpful video. I was able to direct my older brother to this video to run the test cycle to restart his refrigerator icemaker after it had been unplugged to resolve ice in the drain for the defroster. It worked like a charm!
I came back home from being away for 2 months and my ice maker wasn’t making ice or making that sound that it’s pulling water in…I’m so glad I found your video, I just reserved it now…I’m praying for ice 😅 thank you in advance
awesome video which was geared for my ge profile since every other video shows ice maker with a turn on:off button to reset or check ice maker. ONLY minus is next time turn background tv n noise off to hear you n concentrate on your tutorial better. again many thanks
We have the Adora model but did the same and it started cycling so hopefully keeps going thinking it should because it shut off as it was blocked....Thanks GB
Hey, just a heads up, while my icemaker did cycle with this code. It did not solve the problem then when the GE repair guy came, he said it erased all of the error codes so we couldn’t see any of the history of what was going wrong with my refrigerator. So he replaced the main board. Said if that doesn’t fix it, they’re a number of other things he could replace. He said I would’ve been better off if there were more error codes that could point directly to what the problem was.
I have this same refrigerator and was trying to figure out why the water goes inside the bottom drawer and builds ice and the same thing in the freezer I have been manually defrosting my refrigerator and freezer. I stumble across this video had no idea about the three buttons deal and decided to try the ice process just waiting to see I hope this will fix the other issues too. I agree shame on GE.
@@andylay1493 did you find a fix. I just played with mine took it apart, reassembled it. And. Also took the back hose out and blew on it. And it worked
@@bermudezeg it is low temperature at ice maker box. It maybe the fan or thermostat sensor or worse maybe the mainboard. Just schedule with GE service to see if it is cover since under 5 years.
I did this and it didn't work. The ice maker moved as if there was ice to be pushed, but there was no ice. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate it.
So what was the issue? I have the same style refrigerator with the same problem. No water to the ice maker, but water is fine out of the dispenser in the front. Any thoughts? Thanks
@@bermudezeg Yes! I finally decided to put a thermometer in the icebox to see if it was in fact 0 degrees in there, (I was told it had to be colder than 7 degrees or the icemaker would not know to function)? Sure enough, it was set at 0 on the digital screen, temp was 0 in the bottom freezer, but it was only 25 in the icebox, (cold enough to make ice, but not cold enough to make the icemaker cycle)? I replaced the little fan and sensor unit that blows the cold air from the freezer to the ice compartment and it works like a champ now. The fan is in the very back of the bottom freezer, just behind the wall. I thought it would be a pain to get to, but it wasn’t bad.
@@bermudezeg wasn’t spinning fast enough. If you leave a thermostat in the ice storage box for an hour and it’s not matching what your freezer temp is, (plus or minus a few degrees), then that fan or the sensor attached is bad.
