This guy and his whole dynamic with Chief and Cortana was the one bit of Halo 5's story I found bearable. It was kind of emotional. Especially when it comes to this guy talking up the Forunners as paragons of peace when it's literally their fault The Flood, which may as well be the polar opposite of the idea of peace, even exist. So much interesting story, just stuck between the lackluster and irritating bits. I want more of this in Halo 6, and less...whatever the rest of 5 was.
The Flood was not invented by the Forerunners. The only thing they did was keep samples of it for study after the firing of the Rings to try to find a cure. But, as Guilty Spark said, “That may have been an error.” So yes, you can blame them for keeping samples of it.
@@rookcapcoldblood2618 actually if i remember my lore correctly, the forerunners waged a war against the Precursors (the race that dominated the galaxy before them) and drove them from the galaxy. The remainder of that race basically turned their own remains into a powdery form that eventually led to the flood we know today. So technically, the forerunners were responsible for the flood.
@@arbiterprime2145 You're right about the Precursors and the Forerunners. But no, the Flood was a parasite discovered by the Forerunners after their war with the Human Race. Humanity was trying to escape the Flood. The only way they are responsible for the Flood is keeping samples for study after the Halo Event. That "powder" you refer to (which I'm assuming is the stuff used to make Prometheans AKA the stuff that Prometheans disintegrate into) is the result of Composing Humans and other beings, breaking them down into materials suitable to be crafted into Promethean Soldiers, Knights, and the like. You saw that happen to Doctor Tillson and the others at Ivanov Station. Edit: WAIT, ARE YOU SAYING THAT THE PRECURSORS MADE THEMSELVES INTO THE FLOOD?!
@@rookcapcoldblood2618 yea, its explained in the Forerunner saga book trilogy. The forefuners drove the Precursors out of the galaxy and nearly wiped them out, they essentially decomposed themselves into a powder form that i believee the ancient san'shyuum got a hold of and started feeding to their pets, which started to mutate and take over other creatures, then san'shyuum, them started to spread through the stars, becoming the Flood we know. Humans found this and started to try and wipe out infected planets and thats where the forerunners said not cool and attacked them.
@@rookcapcoldblood2618 halo.fandom.com/wiki/Flood goes more in depth into it. also i would highly recommend reading the books if you havent already, gives a lot more backstory and lore to some characters
I love his voice, and his sense of humour GO. AWAY! I don't mean to be rude and Oooh dear, Cortana's going to be SUPER mad at me :/ I don't get why he gets so much hate! I loved the Warden Eternal
TheHypersniper0812 I think the hate for the Warden comes from his boss fights. As annoying as those fights can be, I still think the Warden is a fantastic character! He’s so goddamn charismatic and fun!
TheHypersniper0812 also maybe his character development wasn't quite perfect, despite his awesome voice and lines. Also the boss fight aspect too. People get annoyed with that. I hope in Halo 6 he has a wider variety of abilities, maybe form based (so he can randomly have a different form each battle), that makes each boss fight a little more unique.
Yea he is like a pain in the ass on legendary its like the prometheans the flood and the covenant fucked each other and had a elegant warrior in the process this is the warden but i like his character though
@@believein1177 I'll take multiple boss fights over QTE endings like the one at the end of Halo 4 and 5. As it is, I think a lot of hate (some of it is deserved) are from people being contrarian as hell. Some of them, I've heard before as well. Divided the story between Chief and Locke. Bunch of people complained about Halo2 having less chief and adding the Arbiter fleshing out the Covenant. Another was the boss fight against Tartarus. The battles against the Brute and Warden Eternal may be a bitch on harder difficulties, but I'll gladly take it.
"In a galaxy ruled by peace, the Humans brought War and Chaos." The great irony here, is that humanity saved the entire galaxy from the Flood and didn't want to fight anybody, and when Humanity was weakened the Forerunners said 'hey' and shunted them back to the stone age
@@karthiksubramanian2279 The Forerunners didn't know about The Flood and when humans started to destroy other races and some of their plants The Forerunners believed the humans were the bad guys but when they set the humans back into the Stone age only then they found out what the humans were trying to do but it was clearly to late.
@@bobdark9559 However the forerunners did learn of the actual events by the time they had to fire the halo rings. They did know humanity wasn't expanding and they were simply trying to contain the flood. And also they understood they made a mistake doing what they did to the humans. The fact that the Warden Eternal isn't aware of this just shows how outdated he is. He probably didn't burn Cortana out of the Domain because he actually can't!
I don't know what the fuck 343 is thinking, but between the Didact and Warden Eternal, they have the opportunity for the best Villains in gaming history and they're doing next to nothing with them and it's infuriating!
"I have misjudged you lot." "I mistook your behavior as tenacity, when it is in fact suicidal foolishness." "You have fought a worthy battle, Spartans... but your fight is done." "Come, let us battle our lost."
@@danielpedraza6455 because it gives him a personality. Hes an unkillable supersoldier whose been around for literal thousands of years, he can afford to not be always serious, all the time.
No, it isn’t underrated. It’s just really bad. Underrated means there needs to be something genuinely good there. And much like the Star Wars sequels, there isn’t enough for it to be “good”.
"Do hold still." I always heard that as "Too old spirit." Also a few of these aren't random, they're scripted. And "gaunleted fist" is Singular, not Plural. Humanity's. Not Humanities. Also: "BANG!" Bahahahaha! I've never even heard that one before!
Halo 5's story could've been pretty badass if it properly explained everything and focused on Blue Team, the dialogue between Warden, Chief and Cortana is interesting
Mom: "Are you going to do your homework soon?" Me: "Can you go? I have friends coming over." *Next day* "Oooooh dear, my mother's going to be super mad at me."
Meridian people taking in third person, warden just bored and done with everything, promethean soldiers acting like gamers, and classic covenant banter yup comedy has been achieved
Queen skinny: "are you gonna make that villager vending machine?" Me: "can you go? I have friends coming over (next day) Me: (forgets to make villager vending machine) ooh dear, Queen skinny is going to be super mad at me... Edit: if u don't know who Queen skinny is she is a character from my Minecraft world and her job title is "the protector of the realm"
