JC the clou of the video for me is the brief interaction with the Thai family who is enjoying a calm day at the beach. The hospitality of the lady is awesome.

I stayed there 15 yrs. ago with a mate . Separate bungalows just in case one got lucky . After checking his out , my mate said : Hope you've got a good memory for faces . There's no mirror in the bathroom . I went to ground laughing . Great place , beautiful people . Thanks for the Video .

This is so great. Open people willing to share their food, and have a little conversation. I am so isolated here in the USA and am so looking forward to retiring in Thailand at the end of 2013. I must learn the language.

I am definitely learning Thai if I choose Thailand to settle down. I love talking to random people like you do JC. Interesting to hear the stories of diff people. And they were generous to give you something to eat. Not that unusual :)

Yes and the Whole Earth is cat 3 too! It was one of the first restaurants I ate at on my first visit. Tasty high end vegetarian food. Now I eat at a vegetarian restaurant (without the ambiance!!) that serves two food choices over rice for 25 Baht!!

I intend to revisit Koh Chang later this year,i went there in 2005 and enjoyed it a lot,i stayed in a bungalow on KaiBae beach,it was no more than a shed really but was comfortable enough for me,it had a mattress on a concrete plinth with a mozzy net,that was all,it was close to the sea and only cost 200B a night ,i am not sure if they will be there when i go back,probably not but i intend to find out.The only negative on Chang is the amount of mosquitos,wearing long trousers nightime is a must

Hey Jc.. Take a bike ride to long beach on Chang. It's a bit of a bike ride, but well worth a visit.. Nice lagoon, Treehouse bungalows there..

I definatly enjoy all your videos. A good friend of mine who lives in Thailand awhile got me on to your videos. I am honestly considering moving to Thailand. I am young 23. Ive grown weary of the states in alot of ways. Im not saying the Us is a bad place. I have a fair amount of money saved and a stable income. I want to live in a slower paced place. Where i can afford to live comfortably an happy. (comfortably) not ridiculous hehe. Im seeking a happy simple life. any advice would be great ty

Hey JC, I'm really enjoying your video series. I lived in CM before and my favourite restaurant was The Whole Earth Restaurant close to the end of the night market. Have you been there. I highly recommend it. The owner also owns Amaravati up in Mae Rim close to the Four Seasons, very cool meditation retreat health resort (level 3 for sure).

In low season, Thailand is so much better. Of course the Thai economy needs the tourism dollars.....but not until you actually live in Thailand (especially Pattaya) can you understand the irritant of hearing various russian dialects barking constantly in the background. Great video, perfect example of how calm and peaceful it can be at the beach.

Hey JC living the laid back life. Way to go. What time of day was that taken and may I ask what camera you're using?? You have a good knack for making ordinary things more interesting. I think my Thai is about same as yours so I understand all your exchanges. It's well worth the effort to learn. A little goes a long way in Thailand. Sabai Sabai. Koh Chang nah yoo, chock dee na.

In Pattaya restaurants have begun to demand payment in advance from the Russians because they have found that these customers running away from the bills. Russians are famous for ordering, eat and then complained at one point or another regarding the food or the price so they thought they had reason to leave the restaurant without paying, or that they simply ran away when the waiter was busy. I've never heard about other then russian tourists have had to pay in advance.

I don't disagree but I think that Asian women can also have a short shelf life. However, don't you notice that most young women these days take care of themselves better than ever before.They're under more pressure from TV, advertising, pop and cinema to look beautiful, to attract and hold onto their men. In fact men are under the same pressure. Bit off topic for a JC video....Oh! how I'd love to be on a lovely Thai island now. Pattaya is a bit intense....All the best :)

Yes, I guess it's a little high compared to the cat 1 alternatives. I assume it was mostly under water for part of last year. Btw, I was trying to see any vids you did during the flood period last year. Have you checked out amaravati - dot - net up in Maerim?

I have met some hotel owners in Koh Chang that refuse to rent to Russians. They say it just isn't worth it. Just passing on info. Don't kill the messenger!

That which destroys most of the tourism in Thailand is in my opinion rude and cheeky New rich Russians who think everything can be bought for money. In 2011 friends of mine stayed at Duangjitt resort in Phuket, and they will never go back. Naughty Russians everywhere, but it is probably inevitable .As long as they have the money, they continue to trample ahead and creating eerie and dissatisfaction among both tourists and locals. And this is a negative trend also in Boracay in the Philippines.

Жаль, но понимают, что российские люди могут быть очень, очень невежливы. В моей культуре, важно быть вежливым. Я предпочитаю азиатскую женщину не российская женщина. Молодая российская женщина красива, но после того, как они становятся старыми, они уродливы и жирны. Жаль, но правда правда.
