How to load and then unload your quad again by yourself with no ramp. Loading and unloading a sport ATV four wheeler or quad with no ramp into a pickup truck.
I’m late to the party. Just used ramps yesterday and they slipped and I went down with the ATV BUT thankfully caught it and myself with my feet. I think I’ll give this method a try. Seems safer for sure. You made this look easy!
Instead of putting the quad in gear, I use a bolt, or dowel through the right foot peg to hold the rear brake down for the front end lift, then pull the bolt out to roll the quad forward. I've just had the quad roll enough to be a real pain when just putting it in gear, also having a full Clarke 5.5 gal tank makes you want to be sure the back end doesn't move when you are picking up the front end.
good tip I might try that next time. honestly lately I have gotten lazy and we use the two quad trailer with a ramp but this method is good to have around for any other situation. I mainly posted this for a buddy just to show him it was possible for one person to easily do with no ramp. might be a little harder on the Raptor 700 lol. my old truck had a 4 inch lift and it was a little harder on that but still not impossible.
Travis Compton have someone push down on the back or each of you take a side and lift the front in then each of you grab a rear tire. Its way easier with 2 people. Back up to a dirt bank or gravel pile if you have one.
I can't do that with mine too heay but if you have a smaller one and forgot your ramps well that's the smart way of doing it. Don't try to Evel Knievel up the back of your pick up lol
+TrailBlogger I got my shee. she's a 04 limited edition. I used my company's van to pick her up. used your method. only down fall is gas spills out.haha. and oil went out the over flow tube from be standing her up to long cause I was tryin to find neutral.haha
TheQuietestMazda3 I never have a problem with the gas if you turn it off first at the petcock. you could drain the bowls first if you were really worried about gas on the van. I don't worry to much about a little on my tailgate. never had it leak oil from the transmission vent breather before but my grab bar is bent upward a little so it may not lean back as far as yours does. glad it worked out for you though man, post some riding videos when you can
emptying my garage today so we can get the quads all tuned up for their next trip, should have some new videos very soon but most likely the next video will be my shop update video since I am STOKED to have one again. quads have been stored for about 2 years now since we bought the new place. makes it a big hassle just to go get the quads anytime I Want to ride or work on them. this will help a lot.
Hey trailblogger, remember me from one of your odyssey videos awhile ago? I was Mason the Nerfer. I have two riding videos now. One is my odyssey video. It finally got fixed up! So if you want, you should go check those videos out!
Hey man just recently bought a banshee and it runs really rich and doesnt wanna idle, everything is stock but the exhaust, it has aftermarket paul turner headers with paul turner fat boy silencers, im assuming the guy has stock jets in it as well considering people don't reject it after the put exhausts on, what size jets should i get? Im located on the jersey shore, and it usually gets pretty cold here in the winters
Cowbell Customs I was loading up one day and watched this older guy with a BRAND NEW grizzly 700 and shiny new truck trying to use some ramps and he panicked about halfway up and floored it, quad did a wheelie and he wound up with the front wheels on the top of the cab. was really surprised he did not break the window or get seriously injured. think he had to go change his shorts after that.
Wow good thing he didnt go backwards on that one. although i dont belive a grizzly is to easy to pick up to put on a truck haha, thats definitly utility trailer time.
I now but what worse is he was riding my dads 400 big bear with out a skid plate on rocks that I'm bottoming out on in my 570 sports man with like 3in more clearance. And he is going faster than me because I use my head and slow down on the rocks.
when you go to stand it up from the front it will usually roll backwards a little unless you have the factory parking brake. then you just inch it forward which is not too hard but if the quad is heavier you could definitely back it up before you lean it over. assuming your quad balances standing up.
not if you have the correct plug and breather tubes in place that come stock on the banshee, they should all route above the engine up near the steering stem...
they are #6 and 7 in this diagram, they connect to a T that comes from the crank case breather www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/a/yam/50038cd8f870021f60a0b7c3/crankcase
