Love, love, love that you are doing this and adding more pranayama videos. There is so many great resources on asanas (including yours) but not as many on the other parts of yoga, especially if you want to advance beyond basics. So thank you!

I have to say, Thank you!! I tried this out this morning. the loudest noise in my house was the ticking clock and couple roosters outside. haha I had a moment that I was in absolute silence.. it shocked me out of place TBH but it was the best feeling in the world.. I like y'alls work. I'm looking forward to keep up with your videos. 😃

This is great Esther. Thank you so much. I like the pace of the bastrika that you led. I think slower is better as it encourages focusing on continuing to breathe as deeply as possible. My lineage of Kripalu yoga in the USA encompasses a very strong pranayama and bandha practice, so as a result I was quite comfortable with these techniques!

wow, thank you so much. i started the cold showers with a "30 day cold shower challenge" over almost 3 months ago and the next challenge would have been to take on the wim hof's breathing technique. but somehow i couldn't bring myself to try it, which is totally crazy because i didn't hesitate to cold shower for 5 minutes ;) thanks again for bringing me the wim hof method closer and motivating me by your calm voice. bless you ^_^*

Got a little dizzy so I'm glad you prepared me for that. Overall the exercise was inviting, motivating, and my body enjoyed it. I wasn't really feeling the "third eye" comment but I enjoyed the quieting of my mind the exercise brought . Focusing on the 30 count sequence really helped me tune out the world and focus on just "being in the moment of no pain or anxieties". I look forward to increasing my breathing techniques to help manage my pain and emotions. Thank you!

was surprised that i couldnt see their stomach expanding on in breath but the opposite after hearing how this is expected from many meditation or yogic gurus etc

That was great! I feel so revitalised and warm. I'm sure this will come in very much use through the upcoming cold months of lethargy. :) I'm curious, why are there 10-15 second of holding the inhale? Thanks! Been following you for about 10 years. Much love from Taiwan.
@AnthonyPolanco
@AnthonyPolanco 7 лет назад
The Science of Yogic Breathing by William Walker Atkinson says that holding the breath allows all of the blood cells in the lungs to capture all of the oxygen available - so basically for maximum efficiency! IF my memory serves me correctly :-)
@allyriaflow7534
@allyriaflow7534 7 лет назад
Why that specific length of time, is my exact question. I'm sure it has to do with beginners practicing. Yoga teacher/therapist/student here. :)
@rossi7056
@rossi7056 6 лет назад
This may be incorrect, or partially correct, but I think the held breath on the inhale is due to the fact that too much oxygen intake can cause hyperventilation/light-headedness if not balanced with exhalation. When cueing an unsupervised population as is what she does here, it's safer for her audience, physically speaking, (and her, legally speaking) to limit the intake of air.

After the second the round, my stomach area started to tighten and and I started feeling the tingling sensation. Is this normal? This is my first time doing this?
@Shambolic2000

Yes it's normal, don't worry. If you're unsure about the Wim Hof breathing, just search for "Wim Hof breathing guide" on RU-vid and you'll get some good instructional videos.

Thank you! I will give this type of breathing a try! I do different movements and stretches to get my body moving as well as a similar breathing technique I learned through Tony Robbins. I actually just made a video on my channel about my morning rituals that set me up to have a focused and positive day. Would LOVE for you to check it out if you can. Definitely liking and subscribing to your channel. -Christine

I love your videos but hearing you breathing that loud is a complete no-no. How can you concentrate on his own breathing when your fill all the space ?
