When he said he works late nights as a security guard....I was like yep and so she cheats on you and uses your money and uses her kids as leverage to guilt you into doing everything. I had an ex like that. They don't ever get better. Leave and marry someone decent then have your own kids.

If he leaves and she gets social assistance, she might be forced to get child support. So men and sometimes women should be careful when getting involved with a single parent who is poorer .

She's looking for a free ride where someone else does all the work and she reaps the rewards without lifting a finger. Why would you want to be in that relationship? Your committed she is not.

Understand that your only value in that household is a financial one, remove yourself from that situation and Focus on yourself First, everything else will fall into place for you and the right person for you will eventually come along, Patience and Perseverance is key. If the father(s) are alive, and not in prison then they MUST be put on child support. Make sure that you're using birth control because her next step might be to trap you!!!

Not sure where all that hate for single moms comes from in the comment section but take it from another single mom: Steven if this does not radically change you need to leave. Only two years together and already in a financially dependant position, without caring about her financial future, that's a huge red flag you should not ignore. You know why she doesn't care about budgeting? Because she probably looks at it being your problem. The first years of your relationship should be great and fun, not a burden.

$19,000 a year at 29 years old? That’s a bit over $9 an hour working 40 hours a week. That’s poverty level wages. Minimum wage where I live is $14.13 an hour. This guy needs to find a new job asap. Living on that salary is impossible.

I have 26.5 years to a psychopath who was also a narcissist and I put him thru undergrad he went to the military to pay for his medical s hook we managed to save 700k he hid it all quit working left me with 200k two kids to finish raising and stayed out of work until the divorce was final I got 90k and 200k debt that was the divorce he makes over 400k per year. Now he preys on our daughter and she is on two mental health meds it has taken me years to get over it and not really sure I am

Set financial boundaries. Never let a girlfriend abuse you financially. You should have never cohabitate with her. Move out now! She’s a parasite ! If you move out then she has to wake up and be held accountable. People often get a better work ethic when they have to.
