Ingredients
Cooking Oil for frying
1 tbsp of Pork Lard
2 tbsp of Water
1 Large Turnip/ Jicama
1 Small Cabbage
2 Carrots
1 cup of Dried Shrimps (Pounded)
6 cloves of Garlic (Pounded)
1/2 cup of Dried Cuttlefish
1 tsp of Salt
2 tsp of Sugar
1 tsp of White Pepper
Jiu hu char also known as Stir Fried Jicama/ Yam Bean with Dried Cuttlefish is another popular Nyonya dish. In my family, we always prepare this dish during Chinese New year or during Cheng Beng. This dish is usually enjoyed with rice or eaten as wraps (with lettuce).
