I have a sizable collection of vintage Lego sets, which my older brother and his boys(age 10 and 7 respectively) admire immensly. They have been told by both myself and their dad they can look but DON’T TOUCH any of their uncle’s Legos, which they never fuss about. So the last story made me feel grateful for having a responsible brother with very well-behaved nephews!
I also have a lot of Legos, but a lot of them are more modern sets. I have very few classic pieces, and the ones I _do_ have are quite brittle and are broken at the points of connection, like a Bionicle hand with a broken socket. After breaking the Bionicle hand, I've been much more careful with my Lego pieces, both classic and modern.
My brothers ex gf allowed my 4 yr old at the time nephew into my room while I wasn't there. I had a few different lego and mega bloks sets, a lot of the legos were star wars and mega bloks were the military models. I had this shelf that I made and I told him not to touch any of the ones above his head and 3 of them he wasn't allowed to touch at all which were my millennium falcon, my battleship and carrier. He tried to take the battleship down. Right when I walked in I heard a loud crash and when I got in my room my nephew was holding half of the battleship and the rest was all over the floor and table. My nephew was crying and kept repeating "mommy said I could". I told him I was upset but not with him and I told him he now gets to help me put it back together. He was happy about that his mom not so much, she told me a grown a** man doesn't play with toys and I said well a grown a** woman should be paying rent, I also told her what kind of parent leaves a 4 yr old unattended in a bedroom that easily locks. Later that night was interesting. But about 2 yrs ago I bought my nephew a battleship set and told him to let me know when he puts it together so I can return the favor.
We have a DVD&book collection and coin collection with my husband, that we love, and even when my kids were toddlers, they understood to not break anything.. They're amazing kids, and always listens to us, so if a parent can't get their kids to behave, it's all their fault.. you teach your kid from the age where they start asking&questioning everything, that what they can and can't do, especially to others property and stuff.. I will never believe that a parent can't teach their kid to listen and understand what is wrong and right.. I didn't have a good mom, she didn't care teaching me anything or helping me in life, but guess what? I never broke anything of others or wanted others things just because I didn't have it . And I didn't have much . I'm still bitter about when my grandparents bought me a barbie rolls Royce pink toy car, and when I was in summer camp , my mom sold most of my stuff(not my sisters though, because they were her favorites) and I came home to an empty room, and oh, she moved me to the living room and I didn't have my own room since then, until I moved on my own.. now 12yrs later,I have an restraining order against her for serious reasons.. my kids don't know her, don't want to even , when I've told about my childhood.. Funny thing is, that I'm the only one of my sisters who's capable of having kids, and have kids , so she can't be a grandma .. Why would she be a good grandma, when she was an awful mother to me . I've never been happier now, married for 22yrs.. She even tried to break me and my husbands relationship apart.. She hated my husband, because he said to her face that she's an awful mom... 😂😂😂
I was in the Army and attempted self delete after weeks of sexual harassment and then an SA. I wish I had someone like that chaplin. Instead I had a NCO tell me "if you finished the job I wouldnt have to sit with you." Still sits with me. Everyone at the unit thought i did it "for attention".
I suggest suing. Lawsuits can help. I am sorry to hear that. Those people shouldn't be in the army. Letting them in there is considered to be a crime. So the Leutennant should face responsibility. Coming foward is important.
We had a retired chief working in our department who was infamous for sexual harassment and assault. This guy was so brazen about it that he did it in front of and even to our patients. He got away with it for 20 years, god knows how he behaved while he was in, but all it took to get him removed was just one department head who a damn about it. It was so easy, that he was gone within a week. People don’t realize how common this is in the military, and how often predators and bullies are protected, especially when they have rank or status. I’ve known way too many people who’ve attempted and committed because they saw no other way out of the daily harassment, and I’ve also know higher ups whose harassment directly contributed to a sailor’s attempt and who then went on to do it to other sailors but with the added, “I know you’re still grieving over the fact you found your friend hanging from the ceiling, but your therapy sessions are cutting into working hours soooo…” It’s no wonder recruitment is at an all time low and why people are leaving en masse. This shit sucks, and I’m glad I got out.
@@beeziebubs2756 That, and people are generally more anti-war nowadays and dont wanna participate in american imperialism, or whatever imperialist country they're part of in question.
Story 2: Geez, these petty officers are poison! Like, they bullied Bill for being behind on physical activity, to the point that he attempted. Glad to know that they're gone AND dishonorably discharged. That'll teach em
And they are of an age where it would be very hard to rebuild a name and career for themselves. Bill didn’t deserve what they put him through but I’m glad he’s living a wonderful life. Cherry on top being that his life is better than the life of his abusers.
Actually the Petty Officers didn't get Dishonorable Discharges since those could only be given by a General Court-Martial. If they were processed out immediately, that meant they got an Other Than Honorable Discharge, which means exactly what it says. This may seem nit picky but, being a retired Navy Chief, I was taught to be nit picky.
Hey, OP of that last post here. When Rslash read it and i crossposted it to r/nuclearrevenge some parts were lost. What i meant by she lost her house is she lost all the downpayment she had gathered to buy a house.
Gunpla enthusiast here. For context: the kit he built with his gramps in the last story was a Master Grade The O. This is not an inexpensive kit to begin with, so a fully customised one would be worth a ton more, even without taking into account the sentimental value, and probably days or even weeks of work would have gone into it. Also the plastic on these kits is quite brittle, so dropping and full weight stepping on it is guaranteed to have broken something.
Story 4: Well, Aunt, maybe learn to accept that "No is No" next time and NOT make excuses when your child (that you don't have anymore) breaks s**t. Instead of paying 25-27K, the Aunt is paying over 1.65X as much (because fees), AND gets divorced and lost custody. Oops
Story 2: I feel bad about Bill's self deletion attempt. The bullyings from those two A-hole petty officers are so heartless. Well done Lady Chaplain. Story 3: Actually, the brat is the son of OP's aunt. Aside from that, it's safe to assume the entitlement of the boy comes from the equally entitled aunt.
That story about the navy chaplain sounds less like "pro revenge" and more like "fury of the patient man" where a normally mild mannered person is pushed just the right way to become the destroyer of worlds
Bit of both. Chaplains carry the rank of captain but throwing your rank around specifically to get someone discharged is basically a once-in-your-career move. I mean not on paper anywhere but come on, if a Chaplain went around demanding discharges left and right they wouldn't be a Chaplain for long. She chose to shoot her payload at these guys.
Story 2... in the military, chaplains are like an IT guy for morale. And for their people's religious well-being too, if folks don't have a local church/synagogue/mosque/etc they attend. They're another one you really don't want to mess with.
story 2 reminds me of this "There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man." in this case of course its a gentle woman
Hot day: these things do happen . Officers get fixated on completing a certain training plan and forget about the welfare of their men. As a medical officer it happened to me - hot summer day, guys in steam bath tanks, showing up in hyperthermia, ice baths, vats of homemade Gatorade , guys in a/c in the clinic drinking it …. Didn’t lose anybody, tG.
Story 2: I remember RSlash once said that 90% of people who fail an attempt never try it again. If you can make it past that darkness, you’ll most likely make it.
Usually a dishonorable discharge would be for something REALLY bad like murder, rape, treason, espionage or whatnot. But for these two they might as well had been attempted murderers and were discharged accordingly.
Learn how to put things into a perspective, please. You think they earn same amounts as people generally do in the US? Think again! Or would you like to make US$100 per month and try to save for a down payment of a house with that? It might take a while to get to that $1600 down payment. Must be nice, indeed.
My husband is IT, the only person in IT! Been at the company for almost 10 years, no promotion or raise!!!! He should be the manager by now and is getting paid $25,000 less than what he should be making! He also holds many other hats at that company! And, yes, he could bring that company down if he wanted to!
@@ScarborSiu They probably did not get an actual dishonorable. That requires a court martial. But they did probably get a Bad Conduct Discharge. Not likely to get upgraded. you can get a general upgraded to an honorable, but a BCD or dishonorable. nope those never get upgraded. And the 2nd part. Yes and no. They do not get a felony record, but they get a bad conduct discharge record.. so they are screwed
So glad to hear that Bill has been doing better since this happened. I don't know how the petty officers thought they could bully someone and get away with it.
@@sytherwusky Same. IT people are the keystones that support the companies' arches. To use a more relevant metaphor, they are the drive gears that keep the cogs spinning.
Story: 4 damn, all she needed to do was apologize and pay for the damages that her spoiled kid caused. But now, she lost all her savings, her husband and the kid, and quite frankly her house due to not being able to pay for the mortgage.
I can imagine a skit of Bob in court. And there will be an AI robot sitting in that seat, by the judge and the guy will ask the robot, while holding a doll saying: Now where did Bob the IT guy touch you? Sheepishly, the robot will point to his plug and say: Here. Meanwhile Bob, sitting opposite: Oh come on! I'm the freakin' IT guy! 😂😂😂
Story 2: Jeez, this one... kinda hits hard. Ever since I learned that someone who meant a lot to me had been constantly harrassed by people on 4chan, as well as their ex, and many people who couldn't keep it in their pants (they were sex-repulsed, and people kept sexualizing their worldbuilding), stories about people being pushed to the edge of you-know-what has always stung for me. I'm honestly lucky they're still alive.
I did a quick look and the model kit in the last story? The Master Grade The O? The base price of the kit even in Japan is $98 USD. Already a lot of money. This is also a rough estimate because I think OP's grandfather went to a local place in Turkey so we could reasonably bump it up to about $150 at least if we keep border tax, sales tax, and shipping for the store to make a profit. It could also easily be worth more because it's a vintage and hard to find kit from 2010.
I just checked today and complete kits for that model come in between $300 and $500. Combine that with international shipping, and whatever it was that they did to customize the kit and I could easily see it going for that much
Story 2:Bro,Chaplin lady literally unlocked Super Saiyan,Those *Navy* scum made the biggest mistake of their life by being Frieza and making Bill Krillin
By the time I had been a Lcpl in the USMC for 6 months I was of a mindset that I am not ever going to injure myself during training just because some asshole with a bigger rank told me I have to. It helps that my corpsman was one of my best friends and I had his number on speed dial…
Man I LOVE hearing these Military stories as a Veteran myself. This is definitely old navy shit from before my time, likely the early 2000’s. Mental health services are relatively new in the Military overall, and those PO’s are the kind you DO NOT want to have as your leaders. You absolutely CANNOT deny a service member the right to go speak to a chaplain- You can go to Captain’s Mast for that. If a Sailor needs to speak to a Chaplin- They are fully given the right to go speak to them. It is an ABSOLUTE fuck up if You, as a leader, deny your subordinates the ability to go to the chaplain… and if something happens because of that, you’re going to be held responsible.
For that first story, I think everyone glossing over the fact that the company was literally stealing from -all- _most_ of its employees already. "Uh-duh! Companies always steal from their employees?!" Okay, granted... but just because people die every day doesn't magically make death a good thing. Also, in what world does in make sense that he can't get overtime? Because he's an IT specialist? I can guarantee you that someone who doesn't consider IT work to be actual work made that law.
It's probably a case of "this profession is expected to work irregular hours/more than 44h per week and is therefore not entitled to extra money over their regular salary". These shit laws exist for fields of work where they don't have enough people, but they don't want to pay the price of not having enough people, so they bribe politicians instead.
The second story; r/Slash says you can retire with 35/40K a year, that is like only possible if you don’t do anything besides the cheapskate lifestyle. You have to make at least 50K to live comfortably
Well considering that there is a large % of retirees living only on SS income, which is around $1,200-$1,800 a month, I would say that’s a very decent amount of secure income. ETA: in the US
As I recall from my days in the Air Force, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), a Dishonorable Discharge can be imposed ONLY by a General Court Martial (the highest level of Court Martial). As for the Chiefs, it is easy to think they were offered a plea and take the Discharges rather than go to trial and take a chance at serious time (and the accompanying prisoner discipline measures) in Leavenworth.
Story 2 is very clear that person is a low ranking enlisted soldier not just from them being in training but not knowing how the military pays for relocation when you get chaptered out and that as long as you have a period of honorable service you get all your benefits regardless. So it’s not revenge those guys got an early retirement more or less.
i dont realy feel bad for the aunt since she did it to herself with refusing the settlement and with her beeing forced to pay that amount + lawyer fees court fees and some other things she might have also made the judge angry considering what the lawyer friend was advising op to do because of what probably would be the cost of taking it to court.
Somebody make a hazard sign that reads "CAUSION! under no circumstances mess with the IT guy" with an image of a stick figure throwing a wrench at another stick figure
That Chaplain of Story 2 straight up deserves to be an honorary member of the Adepta Sororitas! She would make the Emperor proud as a Sister of Battle.
If I get a butt dial, I *never* drop it until I have some kind of confirmation that it was only a butt dial. I would rather wake someone up unnecessarily, then let it go and find out later that it was actually a distress call.
Story 1: very wholesome revenge. He couldn't get overtime for himself, so instead he got it for everyone else. Even though he was probably motivated by spite, it was still nice
The military story reminds me of when I was in Basic Training. Drill Sgts constantly disregarded doctors orders and constantly tried to get those of us who asked to speak to the Chaplain to drop the meeting "or else." It's so hypocritical.
First story, there's some wisdom that goes beyond not messing with the IT guy, and that's to not mess with the only employee handling (or in charge of) something when you don't have a backup/replacement. If you're going to screw over the only person who is keeping something working properly, then you're going to get screwed much harder if they decide to seek revenge, even if that revenge is to simply quit. If they're working longer/harder because of being the only one, pay them for it! Doesn't have to be a permanent wage increase, just some bonuses to compensate them for their extra work. The alternative is to be forking out a ton MORE money when they bail out because they're tired of being treated like crap. If two is "enough" for the job they do, then you need to have three working that position. Fewer hours per week for each person, each person gets guaranteed time off (days) each week with it all being covered, and if someone goes on vacation, it's still covered. I'm sure that employer learned a very harsh lesson about putting all of their eggs into one basket.
At my last command I had a petty officer who would harass me and punish me for shit that wasn't true. For example, I was running back and forth getting tools and chemicals. The idiots I was working with couldn't make up their minds on what they needed and I was forced to mop an entire hangar bay for the mandatory Thanksgiving lunch. It was bullshit. Another incident was I needed go to Administration to start checking out since I was about 1 week from leaving. Normally our higher ups gave everyone 2 weeks but this dude wanted me to work up until the last day or two. He was running towards me with the officer in charge and tried to spin a story about how I was trying to avoid working. Thank God this officer listened to me about what was going on and the fact I was on the verge of a panic attack (I was having them daily). This officer told him to pound sand and to leave me alone so I could check out. I still had to work until I checked out of a specific shop but Jesus this man had it out for me.
That final story hit me right in the gut when I heard the brat broke the MG The O kit. Master Grade gundam kits are spendy, even when they're no longer being produced. A quick google search for that kit has it anywhere from $250-$370. Applause for OP, I'd have seriously hurt that brat or aunt for breaking even an RG kit, which is around $60. These models aren't that durable like action figures.
J.B. Hunt tried to do that to me. I was a known passenger on my friend's big rig, and they were fired before we ever got near their home base, which was against protocol already. They tried to tell me I didn't get a ride home and had to figure it out while my friend got a ticket on them. I told them to look closer at the paperwork I submitted when we told them I'd be a passenger. "All policies that apply to our drivers apply to their passengers." Therefore, they couldn't have done that without SEVERE consequences. Can't be too loose with your wording if you wanna screw someone over 🙄
All Gunpla kits have a "grade." The "Perfect Grade (PG)" kits can be REALLY expensive, the lowest start at around $100 but I've seen some go for $500 and that's while they're still in production. If those kits are not in production, that price can really skyrocket. I remember seeing an out of production PG kit on Ebay for nearly $2,000.
Story 4: I would love to be a fly on the wall of the Aunt if she ever watched this vid and heard Rslash say that the kid is gonna be taken care of by the parent that "actually cares." The reaction would be priceless.
First Story: I don't know what the OT worked out to, but if OP was that hard pressed, his departure probably sent the company into a tailspin. What were they thinking pushing him out the door?
Ive been watching Rslash since a little before i graduated high school, back in 2019. He had like 10 videos and i was living with my uncle and aunt. I binge watched every single one and watched you every single day ive had a phone or computer. From a graduating high schooler to a married mother with a part time job at a local thrift store :> i hope you dont stop making content anytime soon.
I know this base! I lived there and my grandfather worked at that base training submariners! It has a museum for the very first nuclear submarine. It's Groton Connecticut.
those petty officers would have likely been charged under Articles 92, 93, and 134. These days the Navy is a lot more serious about this sort of behavior. Back then, you would just get kicked out of the Navy. Today, you get kicked out -and- slapped with criminal charges, which can land you in prison.
IT Specialists are exempt from Overtime? No IT Specialist will ever work in that state ever again! Only IT rookies would take a Job in such a place. IT Specialists can work wherever they want. IT guys are needed everywhere!
Story 4: I was absolutely horrified to hear a kid broke a Gunpla. I've does not simply damage a Gunpla and get away with it. Glad justice was brought down upon them.
As an IT guy, I must say that not all of us know everything of our systems and have access to the whole databases. Some of us really represent "fake it untill you make it" and are even preyed upon by Karens and maliciuos software.
rSlash- I’ve been listening to your videos daily since I was a junior in high school. I just graduated college with my BFA. Thank you for being such a great consistency in my life
The way my heart dropped to my stomach during the second story when they convinced Bill that nobody would care about his problems, that's just awful. I get that the military loves doing shit like this to "toughen" people up, but at the point where the dude is literally begging to go get the only mental health services he can access, that's too far. I am so glad he didn't die, I was afraid of that from almost the start of the story.
Whoooweeee! Slash! Today's episode hit home! Navy, physical fitness, mental health, nerd stuff and justice. It's a good day to be alive. Thanks for the episode!
Story 2: That's why my mom didn't want my brother to join the military. She was worried about "friendly fire", since my brother could be kinda irritating.
As someone who makes gundam kits that is 100 percent correct for the pricing He provably used multiple parts from multiple master grade, real grade or even perfect grade kits and just some master grade kits alone are upwards of 100 to 200 dollars This isnt even mentioning paint, sanding, etc Like ive seen sime custom kits sold for several thousand dollars at cons
As somebody who is actively building a kit while listening to this video I'd like to time in and say some of these gunpla kits go for several hundred dollars. The one I'm working on right now is a medium grade kit and it's still cost me $80 some of the vintage ones or even some of the perfect grade models go for a lot of money and I would be gutted even before you put in the fact that it was the kid he customized with his now deceased grandfather
