The intensity on defense was insane back then. I forget MJ was 6’6” and played like a 6’10” beast. The fact he was so dominant in the post, as a shooting guard, as well as on the break, and took such a physical beating still astounds me.
I totally agree, and he kept coming at you. So with those and other facts, this clearly makes him with all his skill, the absolute very best ball player ever, bar none!!!! He just keeps coming, he is the Ali of basketball. The best, he is a machine, a piece of iron like Rocky, in Rocky IV. Michael just keeps coming, he is different man!!!!
all the abuse jordan took especially during an era of BIG MEN and VERY PHYSICAL basketball. he still pushed through with blood and sweat. this is why he is the GOAT!!!!!!
I tend to agree more with Grey Fox on this subject but ultimately the two cannot be compared - they're from two significantly different eras of the sport.
Imagine playing with that kind of intensity on both sides of the court without taking games out... against guys that wanted to take you out... Now Imagine a guy averaging 30 plus points per game and being All Defensive Team and even Defensive Player of the Year once... There is no way to compare anyone to his Airness Greatness. #23 🐐
i remember being a kid and being scared for jordan vs he pistons or knicks cuz i knew they were going to try to hurt him .. but he never backed down ./ that’s something that’s missing now a days
MJ, was definitely, a warrior and nothing wasn't getting in his way. MJ was unstoppable!! The comprehension in the reply and comment selection is just beyond saddening. I am not here in no way to speak bad about Michael Jordan, because he is the greatest. Firstly, Michael Jordan had an incredible work ethic. He was known for his dedication to the game and his relentless pursuit of excellence. He would spend countless hours practicing and honing his skills, always striving to be better. This level of commitment definitely played a big role in his success. MJ had a strong mindset about the game of basketball his determination, along with his mental toughness made him great! This type of mindset enables individuals to persevere through challenges and obstacles and to maintain a positive outlook even in difficult circumstances. MJ overcame it all with persistence. A warrior is a fighter or soldier, especially one in former times who was very brave and experienced in fighting.
@@J972M u mean the Jordan that was 6-0 in the finals with 6 finals MVP's? How many consecutive scoring titles? 10? How many first team defense did he make? 9? Those are GOAT numbers
@@TheGrowdan311 First of all, scoring titles mean nothing in the GOAT debate. If you take the most shots, by far, you'd better have the most points 😂. More importantly, you completely missed the joke
Boys & Girls... THIS is how good basketball used to be. The paint was a meat grinder in the 80's & 90's. Teams weren't throwing up three pointers all night. They were banging it for 48 minutes down low.
I remember it was tough back in the 90s especially those Knick teams...then again after getting past the Pistons, the Bulls knew how to handle the Knicks. No shot was easy, everything was contested.
me either. ill watch a 10 min highlight reel and stop at 2 mins because i realize im watching nothing but guys standing around while one guy takes a 3 or open dunk. Boring
man how did the knicks not win with Patrick Ewing, Allan Houston, Larry Johnson, Charles Oakley, Chris Childs and John Starks, Michael Jordan was truly the GOAT.
@@sylentknight my bad he was such a great player, i watched him at Georgetown all the way through, so imagine my shock when you made me realize i mis spelled his name. i edited it, Thank you
@@mensahtalk2367 no big deal, comment caught my eye not for the misspelling, but I was thinking the exact same thing when I realized all those guys were on the Knicks at the same time and didn't get a title.
Halloween sport...1-5 vs Rockets and 0-6 Celtic...how did he do in MLB...that's right...he never played like Sanders and Jackson...he played in the minor...he is not a athlete nor is his 6-0 championship are real...fuck that Halloween nigga..
Basketball was the best then for one they don't even play defense anymore I literally had 2 youngsters literally say they would put LeBron over Jordan smh!
This is when Basketball was Basketball!! Jordan was at top of his career but it's not like he didn't face adversities doing the Game!! It goes to show you it can to any player but it was good that Rodman had Jordan back no matter what!! Bounded Brothers of Basketball!!❣
Basketball allways in my mind and heart..Especially in these times never forget that times... And the Golden Three from the Bulls no.1 Jordan23 ,Scottie33 and Rodman91
For KG only had 1 championship and not taking anything from Kobe but 3 of his championships he had Shaq. The last year Jordan played with the Bulls in 97-98 he didn't have Pippen half the year and Rodman was suspended 20 games and what was the outcome. That's why he is the greatest. Who else do you know can win championships retiree and come back and win more?
I'm a Knicks fan, but have the utmost respect for MJ. One of the best to ever lace 'em up. But it have been hilarious to have seen a moment when MJ's teammates would've moved out of the way and said "okay Mike, go get him...", and then Mike would've been like "wait...what?!?!"
@@oc0613 I've been watching hoops since the 60's....NBA, ABA, College, High School, Rucker, AAU, you name it. As I said, MJ is ONE of the best to ever lace 'em up. Personally, I don't get into the "GOAT" stuff. I've seen waaaay too much to think one guy is the GOAT of all of basketball. No dis to MJ, it's just my opinion.
No había como parar a jordan que buenos tiempos Bulls vs Knicks Bulls vs Pacers Bulls vs Orlando Bulls vs Portland Bulls vs Phoenix etc etc etc .NO HABRA NADA IGUAL YO SOY DEL 82 . MONTERREY MEXICO.
Jordan freaking challenged almost everybody on here to get into a fight, but when Shaq and Karl was fouling him, Jordan acted like nothing happened at all lmao.
Yes, it was a tough game back then, but in the '50s and '60s when Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain played even tougher. I remember watching a Viceo clip where Wilt was being beaten so badly that he had a couple of his teeth knocked out.
Basketball was a better sport for fans before all the superstars constantly changing teams, the flopping, the 3 ball only offense, and the anti defense rules. Chips were HARDER to get back in the 90s.
I mean im in my late 30’s so I was lucky enough to see all these as a kid and rewatching through RU-vid. So Ive seen them all. But still an awesome video of the best there ever was! He was a maniac competitor and also better than everybody. Crazy combo that hasnt been seen since. He wanted to kill you every min of every game, every night. Thats why he is the greatest of all time
@@catcountry0099 i regret not being old enough to see 80s Jordan. I was born in 80s so i only got to see 90s jordan. When i look back at his earlier days, man he was incredibly more athletic and raw. Total package. You can watch any Bulls game vs any team and you can see why he was not only a superstar but how he was levels higher than "everyone". It's crazy watching NBA from 90s up until now with the Heat/Nuggets NBA Finals. Sooo sooo soo much difference now vs then in regards to NBA
i remember bulls vs pistons in the eastern conference finals, pippen got elbowed and the ref pulls him off the court because he was interfering with the play, no whistles nothing, game just went on.
NBA need to change rules. This was the golden era of basketball. Now it is a 3 point boring contest. Lebron wouldn’t last a 1st playoff game on this era.
