Great upload, thanks a lot. By the way, also the last 6 seconds of You Gotta Move made it onto tape (at 31.27-31.33).

Are you kidding, I never noticed, you are correct. I told a friend, "no they did not play You Gotta Move, I am sure of it" but it was during the tape flip. Thank you for bringing that piece of info to my attention. I cannot believe after 51 years I am just hearing those important few seconds. nzb2004 to borrow a phrase from the 60's, you just "blew my mind."

Thanks so much for this! I was at that concert, I was 16, and this was my first live concert. Brings back so many memories and no other concert I've been to has ever matched this. : ) I honestly couldn't believe someone had a video of this show . Who'd have thunk they'd still be kicking around and sound just as good . Best live show I ever saw, and that's without the fireworks and the big ass productions these shows have today. Stones forever!

@patdavidson7520 Your comment made my day. Like you, I was young, just 13, at my first live event. And all these years later, this is the tour I am still obsessed with. My only disappointment that night is that they just played about an hour and fifteen minutes. (My recording is missing one song.) They were so young, in their early twenties and totally commanded that room. Mick Taylor's contribution was spectacular that night. If you listen to tapes from the beginning of the tour, for instance Denver, they sounded stiff. But we caught them at the end of the tour, when they were in top form. How lucky were we!

My dad was the promotor - I came for the second show - seven (7) years old - thank you so much for this tape - I know the Masely Brothers filmed the show backstage, so it's in their archives somewhere.

What a story you've got, seeing the Stones at age 7! Did your dad work for the Garden or the Stones? I am told that all the concerts from that tour were audio recorded, interesting that there may be backstage film footage from Boston. The second show is also kicking around online if you'd like to hear the specific show you attended. Google taper Joe Maloney, his recording is out there.

@@dianestrauss9699 My dad and uncle Frank were the local promotors for most of the major Boston shows late 60's - - they had a venue called the Carousel theater in Framingham that was pretty special - we had season tickets to the Bruins at the time, and the night of the Stones show, I remember looking all over Boston Garden for the hockey rink

@spoonful I remember the Carousel, they featured some BIG names there. How lucky for you to grow up in that rich musical environment. Between the Garden and the Carousel, your dad's and your uncle's experiences, you must have had some brushes with music royalty. And I'm chuckling about your hockey rink comment :)

I'm listening to this again! As I'm listening, I was thinking back to what the Beatles were doing at the time, and there's no comparison There's a long debate about who's the best, the Beatles or the Stones, and I don't get it because they produce completely different music. I don't want to call the Beatles more of a pop sound because I think their stuff was more serious than that, but with a handful of exceptions, they just were not hard rock. I got into an ex one time because we were talking about who was the better band to dance to, with him claiming it was the Beatles! I couldn't stop laughing!

Pat, in the Beatles versus Stones debate, you and I are firmly in the Stones corner! When I considered releasing my recordings to the public, I thought no one would be interested in the worn tapes sitting for fifty years in my bureau drawer. But no. Here you are coming back to listen again. Thank you for lifting my day!

@@dianestrauss9699 So glad you kept the tape in that bureau drawer! You can buy their music but it's not the same as this, brings me back to what I felt THEN! The fact that it's playable after 50 years gives me hope of a cassette tape I have of my daughter singing when she was 2!
@dianestrauss9699
@dianestrauss9699 9 часов назад
@@patdavidson7520 I agree, the live audience recordings brings back all those feelings of excitement! Concerning the cassette of your daughter's singing, it's most important to keep it in a cool dry place. My tapes have always been in a regular living space, like a bedroom or closet. So avoid placing your cassette in a hot or damp place like an attic or basement. It's not unusual for magnetic tape to last a long time. Some brands have inherent flaws like sticky shed issues. But most likely, yours will be fine for decades with proper storage.

Someone has mentioned my photos from this concert. I am reminded to ask if anyone has audience photos from this show. If so, I would be interested in digital copies. The Stones, BB King's backup band, Terry Reid, early show preferred but also interested in late show. Let me know if you've got 'em.

@dianestrauss9699

Hi Jerome. The negatives are pretty thin, not much image there. I was a thirteen year old at my first concert so I just shot the one roll. I had my dad's world war II era Agfa camera which is as basic as it gets. No I have not released the full sheet of negatives / prints anywhere online. This one strip is low resolution but gives you an idea where I was sitting in relation to the stage.
