Mainly I think this is terrible optics for a broad audience, and when you are speaking about another community you have to understand that in today's internet age you are now speaking directly to that audience. The whole disparaging summary that destiny does with everyone rightfully sounds uber hateful to a community who knows nothing about this Dinosaur. Add in that race and you just need to take the L at that point. This man even says we shouldn't generalize people by immutable characteristics, so I don't even know why he's dying on this stupid hill.

It’s giving low key intellectual racism. Destiny has some solid arguments but the more I take in his content the more I’m catching the covert racism. Aside from the covert racism, his argument was poor. Saying that you don't recognize or can't distinguish between black streamers, when the two in question (emphasis on TWO!) are the basis of your argument, is concerning. He felt so confident in his chest to go online and give a blanket statement pertaining to black streamers. This tells me that he is mad at the visibility of black streamers, not "black streamers as a whole". How can you be a commentary channel and not conduct your research? He allowed his subconscious thoughts to bubble to the surface. You didn't do your research, so I have to believe your thoughts are coming from an innate point of creation and not through further study. To say that you don't want to watch people do something because you can do it yourself, reeks of a high school racist bully. It suggests jealousy. Why should your streamers watch you and your poorly based opinions? Kai has gotten as big as he has due to being highly entertaining. That man is a gifted natural entertainer. If not racist, Destiny is very jealous and envious that black people have come in, once again, and dominated a space. He truly disgusts me. I will avoid engaging in his content and giving him views. Yuck.
Yeah, never really engaged with destiny looking thru a racial lense on the almost 10 years I’ve watched the platform since twitch has always been predominantly not black, but Destiny has always been known as a prick. Like a holier than thou pompous asshole who thinks everything is an argument and can’t fathom feelings in a racism. He once refused to apologize to streamer and friend TriHex (who is black) cuz Destiny said he doesn’t find it wrong that he says the n word in private off stream.
Bro anytime white people say anything about black people y'all act like this is their dissertation on black people as a whole and every statement is their workshopped college essay about race. Bro is doing react content and made some random comment where he sounded like he was using negative brain power. I promise you white people do not keep this same energy with the reverse.
This is good advice about doubling down. Especially coming from someone who knows a thing or two about doubling down when they are in the wrong (cough cough)
What's weird is you thinking he was mad about that. But sure, pretend that was the issue, and not people flipping out and immediately calling him racist, or having a hissy fit because he didn't know who you are.
@@usucdik the issue is destiny refusing to clarify with people and refusing to be open minded about how somebody could possibly interpret his words as offensive/hurtful. he, himself, is making it justifiable for people to call him racist.
But he said new. And zoomer. And black. So what was wrong? Just the scope of proliferation? Please tell me you're not immediately offended by someone mentioning the race of the people he was talking about.

The statement about clips around the 3:00 after he’d seen 30seconds of a clip and was in the middle of 5minute monologue on who Destiny is truly is 👨🏻🍳 💋
That whole "homophobic community" thing is such a weak attack.. like bro, Kai & Speed are non-nerdy internet personalities who pander towards younger male viewers, OF COURSE there's gonna be some crazy comments from their fans, that's how it's always been. Especially as on streams people say crazy shit because they know their comments will just get buried under a load of others. Plus, the Tates, Adin & Sneako have done some damage to peoples' filters and those guys have a crossover audience with Kai & Speed because they have a similar target audience. (plus Adin appears in these guys' streams quite a lot & always has done)

Destiny just sounds like a hater going after Speed #1 on YT and Kai #1 on twitch that are BLACK. Hell he brought up race literally this is just funny like y'all grandpappies and mamies hated us and now most of the zoomers wanna be us. I love how we things come in full ♻️ cycle.
What I’m confused by, and I would love to be educated in this because I don’t understand why it continues to happen, as we keep generalizing to a whole race. Black streamers, white rappers, whatever. How was it helpful to continually generalize to a whole group of people instead of talking about your issues with specific people who just happen to have a particular skin color. What does it actually do in the bigger scheme of things to continually generalize to an entire race?
Destiny’s biggest problem was generalising the zoomer wave of black streamers all being one thing. When in reality it’s just speed and Kai. He might’ve thought there’s more than just 2 considering how dominant they’ve been at getting their clips out there. You could laugh at him desperately trying to excuse how he doesn’t know famous black people but I mean it isn’t unreasonable and none of those famous black people would resonate with Destiny the same way as their fans (Kobe). It was just massively blown out of proportion and your chat was literally lying and biased towards constructing a racist man. If anyone knows Destiny he is stubborn and should’ve said that statement was a gross generalisation. But it’s so brain rot to say he’s racist.
Also in the original, he goes on to say that he's not aware of everything they do he's just familiar with them through lsf clips. He acknowledges that they could have other content
Screaming and acting a fool on stream is not unique to the new black streamers and has in fact been the the main way to gain popularity on twitch for a very long time. Destiny isn't racist, but him only noticing this when black people do it and not liking it may show some underlying racial stuff. It most likely has to do with his private school in Nebraska type background. XQC, Tyler 1, Doc...etc the old generation of streamers are known for the same type of stuff. New streamers are just replicating what they've seen growing up but for their generation. Destiny is fans of those older streamers that did the same shit. Then you factor in destiny literally burning bridges with black friends over him being adamant about his right to say the n word in private to his other white friends. Overall Destiny may not be racist and may argue against racism and racist ideology....but that doesn't mean he isn't culturally insensitive nor does it means he respects the black community. He isn't some regular dude, he says the shit he says to thousands of people live that hang on his every word, copy his ideology and even use the same vocabulary he uses. Destiny doesn't promote active racism but he does passively endorce indifference.
@@EF-wy3di bro destiny wasn’t arguing for his ability to say the n word privately It was about generally offensive or wrong jokes you wouldn’t say in public being permissible in private if it’s appropriate So making a mentally handicapped joke to the nword or Asian joke or African joke It wasn’t him arguing that he should be able to say the word in private
@@FJaypewpew It's literally the same thing just back by a "I promise It doesn't seem as bad as it sounds." I know the arguments destiny made and they weren't consistent with his overall view on the matter.
To be charitable I went and watched the full video. It was in reference to how speed was being racist to the Asian kid. This blue hair dude mentions how the black online community hasn't caught up basically on the woke word play and that they are more racist and homophobic. I agree with that but his choice of words using "legion" and such is just in poor taste.
@dmetriusmarch The black community is more homophobic, it's a huge issue that gay black men have to deal with all the time. Black culture similar to southern culture is in general more religious, more conservative and focuses and "men being men" bullshit narratives.
@dmetriusmarch So your arguement is since there have been white men who have shot up gay clubs then black homophobia hasn't? I'm not talking specific. I'm saying black homophobia inside black America is a real issue that's isn't really addressed. It's mostly because black America like the south is very tied to religion and many black mothers either don't address it or even worse actively condem it.
@dmetriusmarch Also you argue its black men who reinforce it. I agree they do but 70% of black boys grow up in a home without a father. Their mothers are the primary individuals who teach morals and the rest they learn from TV and school. Black boys in society are raised by women not men for the VAST majority. I'd put a solid bet that single mother homes have a higher not lower homophobic lean.

I don't watch streams but the only black streamers I know are speed and Kai and every time I watch a clip of theirs they have such high energy and are basically screaming. I just found out that Shawn streams and this type of energy is what I prefer. They are clips but when I see clips of xqc or the pokeman girl they're just chilling. Speed is literally on speed 90% of the time.
the point is that destiny used that point to generalize a whole community of streamers. he’s the one the brought race into it by saying “a legion of black zoomers,” indicating that most to all black streamers are just loud and obnoxious, which isn’t the case. on top of that, like you said, they’re just clips, which don’t fully paint a full picture of the kind of content that black streamers can make. ultimately, it boils down to destiny failing to do his research when making such a bold statement, which came across as racist.
@@justmickey142the problem is “a legion of black streamers” interprets as “all black streamers” to you. Same way as “a legion of white streamers” wouldn’t mean ‘all’ or even ‘most’ white streamers - just the specific group that is the focus of the statement. Which is the W/L community which lets be honest, does do the loud=funny comedy a lot of the time
@@OneMoreTimeBeats no, a “legion of black streamers” does indicate most to all black streamers in this context. of course i don’t think he’s literally saying every black streamer makes “loud=funny” content, but he goes and criticizes both speed and kai, who are arguably the most recognizable black streamers and never makes the distinction that it’s only some black streamers.
Honestly just seems like his jealous that Kai and Speed found a niche and are gaining huge success from it, regardless of whether they put on an act for the camera or not. He's just a bland political white guy.

It’s just an offhand comment that got blown way out of proportion and destiny himself admitted wasn’t worded clearly, it wasn’t meant to be a STATEMENT
So the two most popular black streams who constantly go viral for yelling and wild ass antics who are always showing up on peoples radar, destiny makes a comment about it and now he has to be aware of all black streamers and is quasi racist?
