It shocks me how many people haven’t called this game out

as someone who's suffered from addiction and has also given this "game" a shot, it's definitely just a way to create gambling addictions like there's literally nothing to do in the damn app besides spin your slot machine.

These "gambling" games are literally so, so dangerous. They can be just as addictive as actual slot machines, but are even more easily accessible, AREN'T government regulated, and literally don't even have to follow the same rules in regard to the probability of winning that actual slot machines do (i.e. they can use any algorithim they want to determine "wins", NOT actual chance/probability). Although this one seems to include more "gameplay" mechanics beyond just slot machines and spinning, it can still be incredibly addictive. Gambling addiction is not a joke, and has completely ruined peoples' lives - app stores need to start straight up banning (or at least closely monitoring and regulating) apps that use gambling in their gameplay and use microtransactions.

The real nail in your observation is when your two accounts had the EXACT SAME PROGRESS. That really hit me. That means if you get your friends involved, they will experience nothing different from you. No funny stories of rolling the gacha and having a unique experience there. We share our summoning circles from FGO, Genshin, and FEH because of that variable experience. Someone can get 5 rare pulls of their favorite character and we can celebrate that! We can joke about bad luck when we show off absolutely trash rolls. Knowing that there's nothing that you can experience that someone else won't, makes this a sad, sad little game.

I remember when this was a controversy in germany. Several german celebrities and youtubers made ads for coin master. Never noticed that this went beyond germany.

With a lot of “online” mobile games, if you just turn off your wifi/data they still work as if you were connected, only plus is that you no longer have to watch ads every 30 seconds

I'm addicted to this game because it's so satisfying winning and upgrading your village. The urge to make purchases on coin master is so hard to fight, but I'm never spending money on this game because you can make the money you spend so easily the next day.

I think it's so interesting that these kinds of games boast about how many downloads they've had but not how many active players there are. They do a good job of hiding what the game play is actually like and scam you into downloading only for you to delete the app two days later.
