Hi Tigrezz, Great question. It's a plastic hanging pot which use to have a different plant in it and l just recycled the pot. I have seen similar ones at Bunnings in Australia but if you live outside of Australia then l am not sure. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Happy String of Hearts Gardening ❤️
Hi Prettylagoon, Thanks for the good question. It's hard to tell if it's because the soil is too wet from the information provided. There is alot of factors like type of tree, root size, pot size and how often you water the tree. The general suggestion is go 1-2 pot sizes bigger then the original pot when repotting. It might not be growing as the tree might be establishing more roots. Hope that helps you. Happy Gardening ❤️
thank you! i just got my hands on one of these from aldi and im planning a plant trade with my sister and i needed a visual guide rather than a written article. ill let my plant settle in to its new surroundings for a while then attempt this
Hi Spunro, Congrats on your new beautiful Begonia. Thank you for your wonderful comment and l love that you plan to plant trade with your sister. Happy Begonia Gardening ❤️
Hi Kookie Awesome that is wonderfully and thanks for sharing your gardening experience. That's what l love about the gardening community what one experiences doesn't apply to everything. Thanks for sharing and watching the video ❤️
Hi Hennessyme9112, Thanks for watching the content and sorry your propagation didn't work. You can watch my propagation video if you like and see if that helps ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i65vqFEwl1g.html Happy String of Hearts propagation ❤️
@@PlantNationMinh Thank you! I just found a huge plant from one of my favorite vendors on Etsy. Perhaps purchasing cuttings was the problem. I will do a tiny cutting and try it again. I am almost two years into the game so maybe I can get it right. I will try it in Fluval Stratum as I have had incredible success with that when propagating. It saved my constellation and Albo. Thanks!
Hi Goldfishewishes, Sorry to hear that your string of hearts isn't Growing at all. If it been a while l suggest repot it and move to area with more light and warmth. If that doesn't maybe restart by propagating the plant. Thanks for watching and your support. Happy String of Hearts Gardening ❤️
Hi Yuanmei, It's better to have a fresh cutting and dipping it in rooting powder. However, a dropped leaft that is 1-2 days can still work. Make sure cut off the end if it's wilted and dip in rooting powder and way you go. Thanks for asking the question and support. Happy Peperomia Poropagation. ❤️
Thx, it’s been so wet outside, super high humidity . The plant left the greenhouse 2 weeks ago and was in great shape, the whole is covered in mildew, but I’m going to pour your suggestion over the leaves and change the ph. I hope it survives as it was a gift from the greenhouse owner, if it dies it will go into the compost pile .
Hi Suzanne, Thanks for sharing your experience with your Begonia. Hopefully your plant survives. Just a suggestion, if the plant still has mildew l would avoid putting it in the compost as the fungus may breed and spread in there. Thanks for watching the content and Happy Begonia Gardening ❤️
Hi, Excellent questions! There is a potential to continuing grow water forever and upgrading the container when its full of roots and using liquid fertiliser to give the plant nutrients. If it stays yo long in water the philodendron will grow roots more suited to water rather then soil do it will be a bit trickier to then transfer into soil. I dont think it will make a difference whether it's small or larger cuttings as long as there is enough oxygen in tge water and enough nutrients to support the plant. Thanks for watching and your support! Happy Philodendron Gardening ❤️
Hi Mojo, Fantastic question. Growing Philodendron in water is different to growing them in soil. When growing in water the roots become water roots and adapted to water. In soil if the soil is soggy for too long or too often the oxygen in the soil will be depleted and the plant will suffocate as the plants have roots that are adapted to soil with air pockets. Also soggy soil can increase the bacteria and fungus levels in the soil as they like those conditions. This can cause root rot which can kill the plant. Thanks for watching and asking the question. Happy Philodendron Gardening ❤
Hi Ufarazuwasti, Yah!! That is awesome and thanks for sharing feedback on the tip. I find this technique works on any plants that need some extra humidity or warmth to grow faster. I have never tried it on the plants you mention but l can't see any resaon why it shouldn't work. Maybe give it a go and see? Thanks for watching the content and your support. Happy Gardening ❤️
I have a croton in my garden .. before only bougainvillea catches my attention .. but as years goes by .. I was attracted by these plant and started to collect little by little today....
Hi Rhenzlzon, Thanks for watching the content and sharing your lovely attraction to croton plant collecting. I love these plants as well because of the stunning colours and sometimes unusual foliage shape. Happy Croton Gardening ❤️
Hello, I’m trying to save my begonia maculata. I saved it from a Walmart last fall. I did a good job of getting the leaves to grow and got it back to good health, it even did well during the winter. Then this spring it began dropping its leaves. There are no pests I make sure not to over or under water, I do fertilize it but maybe I’m not using the right kind. Eventually I thought maybe it needed to be repotted, as it was still in its greenhouse container. I put it in a terracotta pot, fertilized it and watered throughly. It’s still dropping leaves😢 and new leaves at that. They grow out a good ways then the tips turn brown, sometimes the stem blackens, then they crumple and fall off.
Hi Ena, Thanks for watching and sharing your Begonia Rescue journey. You have done alot of things that l would do as well. Only thing l could think of is to help with boost of warmth and humidity by placing a clear plastic sleeve/bag around it bur make sure there is a large enough gap for airflow flow to occur and plant it in an area with extra morning sunlight/ bright indirect sunlight and no direct afternoon sunlight. Hope that helps and keep me updated on the progress. Happy Begonia Maculata Gardening ❤️
New plant and i repotted it. the bottom row of leaves were touching the soil. They all turned yellow on the bottom row. The rest of plant is beautiful. West facing window not near AC vent. Should i take those off ...will it spread? ..
Hi Lauran, It might be just being temperamental because of the environmental changes. Ficus Lyrata takes time to adapt to new household conditions and will drop leaves, luckily it's the older bottom leaves and not the new leaves at the top. Generally it's better to leave the plant in its pot for 4-6 weeks repotting as repotting the plant to give m9re time to adjust. I would leave the leaves alone as the plant be withdrawing nutrients from the leaves and using it in other areas of the plant. The leaves will drop off on its own accord when the plant has no use for it. If the plant is still adjusting to the new household condition then yes there is still possibility more leaves can turn yellow. If this occurs l would move the Ficus Lyrata to position where it can receive the maximum amount of sunlight possible as this us a sunloving plant. Hope that helps you and congrats on your New Beauty! Happy Ficus Lyrata Gardening ❤️
Hi Ufara, l think there is a few forms of curtsii that look similar but different. I love those labels as well so l don't forget the name of the hoya. The labels actually came with the plant when l brought it. I buy most of my hoyas from a place called Collectors Corner in Springvale, Melbourne. Happy Hoya Gardening ❤️
my snake plant tips are browning/drying, i tried watering didnt work, i tried less watering didnt work ... :( also thank you about the sun acclimatization, i think i also burned mine. i didn't know they can bloom!
Hi Ashley, you are right once leaf is damaged its damaged, no way to reverse the damage. Thanks for watching and sharing your gardening expertise. Happy Snake plant Gardening ❤️
Hi Ufara, l suggest checking the roots of the plant. It might be something going on there like being too root bound or not enough roots to support the snake plant. Your welcome. Snake plants aren't a strong bloomer but super cute when they do. Thanks for watching the content and your lovely comment. Happy Snake Plant Gardening ❤️
Thank you! I got one that was almost bald and very sparse ... when it became nice and warm outside, i left it out under direct sun and rain, now its full! I also love water prop them, so easy. I've also killed one (I purchased online); and have since just bought from local store where the weather is the same.
Hi, Thank you for watching the content sharing your gardening experience to help us all grow beautiful plants! I haven't tried water prop before just directly into soil. I think l will go and try it out. Happy Callisia Repens Gardening ❤️
Hi, this is great video. My monstera deliciosa and thai constellation started geting black spots (that are not dry or crispy, but kinda moist). This is consistent with a fungal disease like you discussed. I have been treating them with copper fungicide, spraying the leaves on the plants, but it's not really helping. The disease has spread to my pothos collection. I'm going to pull the plants out to clean out the root with hydrogen peroxide. My question is, will the plants survive the repotting because it is winter now, and can the leaves be saved without hacking the entire leave off, including the petiole?
Hi Susan, Thanks for watching and sharing your Monstera woos! It does sound like fungal disease especially as it has spread to your pothos. I would move it to an area with more air circulation but away from your other plants to prevent spread. If most of the leaves are effected and the fungalcide isn't working, l would cut the whole leaf off to prevent spread. If there is fungal disease occurring and the roots are fine l would leave as is especially in winter to prevent from over stressing the plant. If there us root rot occurring as well then it has to be repotted. Happy Monstera Gardening ❤️
Hi, Thanks for sharing your experience with using banana water for your plants and it's good to know so everybody can decide for themselves to use it or not. Thank you your watching the content ! Happy Gardening ❤️
How can you increase the humidity in your home . I have my monstera near a window and it’s not hot it cool . How do I get it to be warmer for the plant I also have a light for it. And moss stick.
Hi Acietco1, Good question! l have a video explaining the different ways to increase humidity without using a humidifier ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BLnkfSMCOk0.html To increase warm increase the room temperature with heater but make sure no warm air is blowing onto the plant. Move the monstera a little back from window so it's not too cold when the temperature drops at night. Warp it in a plastic sheet if it's too cold. Those would be my suggestions. Thanks for watching and your interaction with question. Happy Monstera Gardening ❤️
Great video! These were such a struggle for me years ago when I first started growing these. Everyone scared me with saying no direct sun but I ended up leaving one in sun by mistake and found out they love morning sun and decline rapidly without it. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Stacey, Thanks for your sharing your gardening experience. Completely agree with you. This type of plant needs more light then then expected! Thanks for watching and your support! Happy String of Hearts Gardening ❤️
Hi Pragya, Water Propagation will work but harder to transfer from water to soil as the Cutting end up growing water roots so need to make sure the soil stays moist for 2-3 week then gradually reduce the watering schedule down. I just happen to prefer growing the Cutting directly into soil, no need acclimate from water to soil. Give it a try. Thanks for the question. Happy Lip stick propagation ❤️
New maranta. Have had varied success with this group of plants. First time with this rabbit foot variety! The leaves are more upward during the day than I expected, and I wonder if it is because it came from an indoor shop, but now is next to my window with plenty of indirect natural light. Will be watching it closely to see how it adjusts. Thank you!
Hi Jennifer, Thanks for sharing your gardening experience with Maranta. I haven't heard of a rabbit foot Maranta ( only know there is a Rabbit Foot Fern). The plant world is amazing, so always learning something new. Love Maranta and tge prayer plant family for their ability to fold the leaves up and down. Thanks for watching the content and your support. Happy Matanta Gardening ❤️
Hi Deborah, your monstera had different colours of green. Sounds like you hit the jackpot of Monstera and scored a sports vagrigated Monstera! Congrats, its a beauty! Happy Monstera Gardening ❤️
Loved your video!! What about curling leaves? My monstera has 6 regular leaves and 5 leaves that are curling along the edges or folding in half what does this signify?
Hi Brandy, Wonderful question and thanks for lovely comment! Curling can be first sign your monstera needs water. If you have watered your monstera consistently when it needs it then Curling can be caused by lack of humidity. Monstera will curl the leaves to try and increase the humidity around the leaves. I suggest you increase the humidity and the leaves should uncurl. Thanks for your support. Happy Monstera Gardening ❤️

I think I overwatered and all the leaves on Lower half have fallen. It is 10 feet tall but leaves mostly on top. What should I do how can I encourage leaf growth lower
Hi Lindsay, Great question! There is two ways can encourage branching that l use. The first is to cut the top off to force the plant to active nodes on the bottom cut to grow leaves. However it means you will have a shorter plant. The second is to notch the plant. To do this need to score/ cut slit into the main stem to create words on the stem to try and active nodes further down the stem. Thanks for watching and your support! Happy Ficus Gardening ❤️
Hi Lindsay, Good question! I let my soil dry then water my ficus. I have found for my ficus they need watering once a week in summer and every 2 weeks in general in winter. I can also tell if my ficus needs watering by the look of the leaves. The household, environment , plant size, pot type and soil mixture and light condition effects how often a ficus needs to be watered. Thus your ficus watering timing can be very different to mine. I would suggest to check the moisture level in the soil before watering rather then sticking to a watering schedule. Happy Ficus Gardening ❤️
Very nice video. I have a ficus elastica that looks very healthy but I noticed some little small brown dots on the back of a few of the leaves but the leaves still look very healthy. Is there a reason why?
Hi Rod, Great question! Small raised brown spots can be scales. Flat/ indented small brown spots count indicate fungus issues like rust spots. If the spots spread then it's definitely fungal issue and needs to be moved to area with better air circulation and a fungalcide. Thanks for watching and asking a question! Happy Ficus Gardening ❤️
Hi, i have a monstera who is over 40 years old, it has been in the same pot for over 20 years. It is leaning heavily to one side now and i need to try and prop it up, it already has a pole, but thats lop sided too. Should i re-pot it? The pot seems really small for it. If so what is the best way to do this? Also the leaves turn brown at the edges and some of the leaves have not even managed to unfurl. Help please!! Thank you 😊
Hi Gillian, Thanks for asking a question and sharing your Monstera issue. I would definitely think the monstera would need to be repotted if the soil is 20 years old, there wouldn't be any nutrients or much soil left and suspect the roots are circulating in the pot and completely root bound. I suggest you check the state of the roots. The edges are probably going brown as the plant is jot getting enough nutrients or water from being root bound. This video link here will show how to repot and set up your monstera. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S6XGujX0oAc.html Happy Monstera Gardening ❤️
Can I bring my plant back to life? It's a pink lady indian hawthorne. I got it two weeks ago, and put it in the ground next to my other other Pink Ladys and noe it's looking dead. I fertilized and mixed in with dirt as was told to do and gave it a little, but not too much water, but it's looking dead now
Hi James, Thanks for watching and your question. The pink lady Indian Hawthorne is a completely different plant to Calisia Repens Pink Lady. Unfortunately l have never grown a Indian Hawthorne before, thus l can't give any helpful advice to save your plant. Hope you can save your green baby! Happy Gardening ❤️
@PlantNationMinh It's ok. The nursery where I got it told me I needed to water it more since it was planted. I planted it next to my existing pinks that I never really water, because they don't need it much since they're already established. Thank you for getting back to me about it though.
