I like how you generally build with appropriate parts rather than expensive parts and put the work into the important things on your builds. I am learning quite a bit from your build videos.
Great video!! I have a e46 with ms43 and trying to flash a tune on the dme. I’ve done it before years back but now I’m getting an error message on jm garage flasher it says ms43 connection error wrong echo bytes. What does that mean please help
Oon kuullu et saattaa tuo läpivienti sulaa jos pistää tarpeeks isoa pumppua, onko sulla sellasesta kokemusta? ja miten sen toteuttas, mietinnäs myös bensankeruu säiliö mut menee hinta moninkertaseks sellasel systeemillä
@@visa5175 Joo oon kuullu. Itellä ei oo siitä kokemusta. Mut niitähän on saatavilla semmosia pultti läpivientejä bensapumpun virtoja varten. Et semmoset saattais mahtua tuohon.
Yay another Pazi88 video! I have a M52 E30 but am wondering if you know how to adjust the speedometer for 18 inch wheels for the stock gauge cluster? Its been bugging me for months :/ Cheers from Sweden!
@@mortalmartian1948 check my older video. In that I adjusted the speedo: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lOBh1aE4hfo.htmlsi=7CI_zX_VHmTk5Mcp
Oooh nice, that's really neatly integrated. But I don't like cutting the tachometer faceplate. Can you alter the layout so that it would work with the radius on top? And how would you go about altering the layout?
Thank you Pasi! Was really cool to work with you on it. You are great engineer and I am so happy with how final product works. Couldn't do it without you!
@@CannaCars For best performing oil return, it needs to be above oil level. That is not possible to do in oil pan on m5x on exhaust side, because the engine is in such a angle. So that's why it's on timing cover. To get it above the oil level.
@@pazi88 Thank you for the reply. Especially on a 8yr old video! I have been watching a bunch of your videos, as I am putting together a turbo kit for my m50, as well as figuring out tuning on my standalone ecu. I have seen many videos and photos regarding oil returns and I see many people returning to the oil pan, this is one of the first set-ups I have seen where it is returned to the timing cover. I would prefer to not have to remove the crank bolt/timing cover etc. If I do not have to. What do you think? BTW very nice looking exhaust manifold! It looks much better then the one I made lol
You are blowing my mind. For a turbo setup on my s52 am I better off following you down the 45.1 ecu path or does the speeduino board make more sense. Was looking at VEMS but this is much more fun.
@@robertfontaine3650 ms45 isn't really good for turbo. Currently it can't run single o2 sensor and also it's limited to max ~500Nm torque. So from stock ecu's ms43 works much better for turbo use. But go with aftermarket ecu 👍
This is so useful. Was looking at vems but this gives us an open source solution that can be upgraded and extended. My S52 is going to be very happy using air density and and turbo.
@@bimmerstein1856 Well the biggest difference is the proper torque modeling that the ms45 and the capability to run the newer e6x CAN bus. Which ones are big benefit with 8hp. But otherwise, the only real benefit is the wideband sensors in ms45.1. But the ms45 also has limitations that ms43 doesn't, so for many setups, the ms43 is better option.
And also I need to get the definition xdf files for the older chip ecu to use with a new piggyback Bluetooth chip that modernizes the chip style ecus. You now longer have to physically burn a chip with the emulator that cobrartp has come out with and I just want to understand one thing about these files. My question is if the definition was made to work with romraider can I use it in tunerproRT ? Because that’s what then cobra piggy back is made to work with and I was thinking of using ba114 file because that looks like exactly what I’ve been looking for ?
Hi Pazzi I have a M50B25tu engine just wondered what must be done to my cam tray to fit these cams also do I use the vanos unit from my M50 intake cam ? Can I also use Intake Cam from M50B25 Non Vanos in my M50B25tu engine as exhaust cam ?
I did mention the reasons in the previous wiring part of this video series. But anyways, I use ms45.1 because of the dual wideband O2 sensors. And then also because the ms45 has torque modeling, which makes it feel way more modern than ms43. And that also helps with the 8hp-swap. Which also benefits from the fact that ms45 also supports more modern e60 CAN protocol.
Hello bro ... Thank you so much for your beautiful video and information.... But i wonder what l shifter A/T you are using and can be also DTC 7HP ?!!!
I'm using F-series 8-hp shifter, because those are cheap. But cantcu wiki has list of supported shifters: wiki.canformance.net/doku.php?id=cantcu:supportedshifters
Forgive me if i'm out of my lane here, but i believe that changing the stoichiometric AFR was a mistake. Since MS45.1 reads Lambda with no real interpretation to AFR you just made it target Lambda 0.67, thus making it run really rich in the clip with the good airmass meter. Instead compensate for E85 in your ron98, idle and cold start fuel maps and leave the stoich value at the stock 14.7 for MS to target Lambda 1.
Based on FR, that setting affects injected fuel amount and also some calculations that model the mass of the fuel and air moving in intake. It "should" work correctly like that and so it seems, with quick testing I have done. It doesn't affect lambda target. It still follows the set lambda target from the maps.
@@DuffBeerLover Yeah, lets hope it works nicely. I did already swap in new OE MAF and it runs perfectly now, even without any further tuning. So it looks like that was the fault indeed and I can continue tweaking the maps to suit the engine.
I have another question. M50b25 engine. I want to fit in e46 and want to use ms43 ecu and now because m50 only have at front crank position sensor can i use the 60x teeth trigger wheel with hall sensor?
