If u own m2 gen. like me. Ventura is compatible, i believe it is as good as sonoma. perhaps this risk is to high. Am stuck with Sonoma for the coming years.
This is my first experience using OCLP to update my 2017 iMac 5k. My supported OSes ended with Ventura (v. 13.6.7) and I really want to have the AirPlay to Mac option available in case I decide to update to an M-series Mac. I watched this, and other of your YT videos several times before attempting this update. I first tried putting Sonoma 14.5 using the OCLP package installer on an external SSD to try it out then, when that seemed to go okay, I redid the whole procedure on a better external SSD and migrated all my files from my Ventura drive (also on an external SSD due to the slowness of the internal Fusion drive.) After the install completed and everything was moved onto the new SSD and seemed to be working, I tried opening the AppleTV app. The icon bounced in the Dock for about a minute then stopped, but the app did not load, apparently. I continued using Sonoma on the external SSD for the rest of the day. When I went to shutdown for the day, I got several windows telling me that I couldn't shutdown because AppleTV was still running and asked me if I wanted to Force Quit. I clicked on the Force Quit option and another of the same warning popped up. This happened 2 or 3 more times before the AppleTV app finally closed and I received a message asking if I wanted to shut down, so I did. Not the experience I was expecting.
i get up to the installer step and i am getting error: the package path speciifed was invalid '/Volumes/Install macOS/InstallOS.pkg' I have been stuck for 2 days. No idea what i am doing wrong. the InstallOS.dmg is in the present working directory
Everything was going good til the part I had to reboot holding Option key. It never rebooted. I also tried holding Shift and nothing. Is their another way to force the Hard Drive Installers to come up so I can continue the process? My computer is a Mac Pro Tower with 64GB Ram and 1TB Hard Drive running Mojave and an 8GB Graphics Card. Thanks
Hi Mr. Macintosh, I attempted to do this update on my 2010 27" iMac from another presenter who was touted as "novel" and clear While following the instruction verbatim a lot was left out there were no disclaimers or fail-safes as I have noticed with your presentation, I am stuck in an infinite loading loop and it stops before loading all the way, I cannot get my original screen back although I was defaulting to it earlier, I've been looking for help but I fear I bricked the machine, all I have available is the external HD with the OpenCore Sonoma Update on it from OpenCore and I CANNOT revert to my regular screen with the external unplugged, it gets the no boot error message, I don't know what to do I potentially lost ALL my info what can I do friends?
Hi, I have a macbook pro mid 2012 with Catalina 10.15.7 running. I also have Windows 10 installed using Bootcamp. To upgrade to Ventura should I first uninstall Windows 10?
Hi, I have setup my mac with Sanoma. Only issue i am facing is that I don’t have any audio. I have gone through the manual and did the changes but nothing seems to work.
Had some problems with Sonoma, went with Ventura, Seems they upgraded some things OR, I did the install correctly, because now my old 2012 MBP is running Sonoma just fine.
Hi im trying to follow the step I'm Using MacBook Pro A1708 when Im using to download macbook Sierra. the error telling " Failed to create the file InstallOS.dmg: Read-only file system curl: (23) Failed writing body (0 !=12307) Please help me Sir. Thanks
I am trying this for 2010 mac book pro 6.2 but my only option is chrome flex stable. Long term enterprise and the enterprise candidate. I choose the STABLE? Is that safe 😅?
Thank you for your welcome video. Yesterday I followed another set of RU-vid videos (older than yours) by someone else on this OpenCore Legacy Patcher process, and, unfortunately it was not pretty. I attempted to install Sonoma on my 2012 MBP Catalina, but after about 5 tries, I gave up, taking most of the day, as I attempted to deal with all kinds of strange, never-experienced scenarios, having to erase and reload the original Catalina software on the laptop about 5 times and then throwing in the towel. NOW, I see from your newer video that the OpenCore process changed / updated since then. SOOOO - I am going to give it another try using your instruction starting right now (3 PM Pacific Time 6/26/24). I hope to have more positive news to report in the coming hours or days. ----- 🙃
