Fast-forward to May of '24, and these are on clearance at Running Warehouse for $120... a great value within the daily trainer price range and much more justifiable. These are now among the best daily trainers money can buy, IMO. I just snagged a pair and so far like them more than the adidas Adizero Adios Pro 2 that I bought last year. I'm not a racer but can appreciate the extra quality, cushioning, and bounce of these premium shoes after waiting for them to drop in price.
are the adios pro3 true to size and do you have narrow/normal feet? having tried the invincibles, is there a protective shoe you can recommend that is fast enough and protective(resilient super foam) enough? i have the superblasts, though them being max stack i find them harsh. I dont know which to pick up next, im a forefoot striker & my gut tells me sky paris, adiosPro3, or vaporfly3. Can you please help me decide my first expensive shoe
I would say I have pretty normal feet. I typically wear a US 11.5, but I got these in 11 as I have always found the pro s to run a little long in the toe box. Would not change that decision at all. They are also on the narrow end in terms.of upper width. If you want that snugger race fit , going down 1/2 was perfect. If you don't mind a little extra room after the toes , then it's true to size. Hope that helps
@@yani.leigh. i appreciate the answer, and if you could please answer the 2nd half of my question would be much appreciated, ***im gonna add prime x2 strung to the list of that cause im not really concerned about stack
Sorry I totally missed that part. So I'm a mid/forefoot striker as well. In all honesty I didn't really love the VF3 in a lot of ways. I tend to prefer the more protective shoes as well , fast/snappy but also forgiving in the later miles. I haven't tried the paris yet, it's high on my list. The sky+ was one of my favorite shoes last year from what I'm hearing it's a bit softer as well which would be a plus in terms of marathon distance . For me the adios pro 3 is an all all rounder. It's light (not the lightest in class) , it's soft (not the softest in class) , incredible energy return (again not #1 in class) but for me ranks top 3 in everything. Durability is A+ as well I used it in Boston last year and ran 2:55 comfortably ! So I might be a touch bias but ultimately it's whatever gets you the most excited about running and going fast
Big surprise for me. I've bought SC Elite V3 with a huge discount(50%) and never regret it. I use it for tempo runs but they are so comfortable also on slower pace runs. From start this shoe looks unstable because of the gel used on the heel side but it's misleading. It has good stability in the run and also provide good protetction for the required areas and also it's easy to put it on the feet - in the contrary to other race shoes on the market like for example adidas boston/adios pro style shoes. You also run almost in silence because it does not give you this characteristic sound on asphalt.
I ran my second marathon there last year, first one as well, ran both there, and running the 60km race this year, congrats on getting your pb!!, i was surprised when i broke mine , at the half marathon point i got 1 hour 31 minutes
I have never run in a carbon plated shoe. I am an average runner and have been running in cushioned shoes. I am interested in buying this shoes. Your advice please. Thanks.
It's an amazing entry level carbon plated shoe forsure. Not to aggressive , can handle all speeds and very comfortable. I use this for every type of session and it only seems to get better !
I love your passionate reviews 👍 but have to say this shoe was terrible for me , i ran 2370 miles last year in many different brands including Adidas and wont be doing any more running in these particular shoes , they just didnt soften up at all . Keep running my friend 🤗
My most used shoe would be the ASICS novablasts 1 2 and 3 , I have hokas and many others but ASICS are my favourite, although I'm just starting to clock up miles on some Boston 11s I just bought and I like them too . Keeping running my friend 🏃♂️🏃♂️@@yani.leigh.
Thank you for sharing! That was such a great day; my first full marathon and such beautiful weather for it. Great memories... and I just registered for this June - time flies, its not that far off!
You obviously love your running and your shoes . It's infectious 🤗 just picked a pair up for £50 , at that price i couldn't resist, already got to many shoes but hey stack up for future seasons 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Imagine if Adidas cared enough to pay a small RU-vid channel to review a shoe. That d be unreal. Unfortunately my wallet says otherwise . Thanks for watching!
Very much so! But an entirely different shoe with an even bigger difference in price! With full transparency, I have bought and tried most of the Boston's and have yet to ever fall in love with one. The prime x I would grab for any run any time , it's a lot of fun.
I have a pair of these and I echo everything you have said. I always wear socks so the sweat thing is not really an issue for me. As the soften up they become really comfortable without feeling squishy. I love them
100% I have to give it as my favorite non plated daily trainer of the year for sure and it's not really close ! Plus after hundreds of miles, the outsole is still A+
Just bought these shoes and run with them twice (24 km ). It is a firm shoe but I knew that from the reviews including yours. I found them on sale at just 157€ which is a bargain I think. It’s a fast shoe and I will use them for faster runs. This is my first brooks shoe. Before that I have tried the v.2 of the same shoes but I’ve had to returned them because the size was wrong(42 1/2)and 43 wasn’t available.
@@yani.leigh. Currently I found them even cheaper, at 112€ at my size(9,5 US, 43 EU) on a local store. That's half the price(the RRP was 250€ here when the shoe came out)
Great video man! I have heard different reviews of this one as that its super aggressive and hard on your legs . I think I am going to go with the endorphin 3 pro for my next marathon. I have heard soooo many things that are great about it
100% they re both great options. For me it's definitely the elite but out of the box, pro 3 has a much better on foot feel. It's hard to justify the elite being so expensive then needing to have a break in period
Awesome effort on the 2:55 Sub3 achievement! What were your 5-21k time trials in the 8wk lead up im curious? Ive been looking into these Prime X Strung given im 82kg depending on the month and got a Marathon in 41days.
I really didn't do to many time trials leading up! I had a training session where I ran a 1:25 half and there was a 10km race where I ran a 38 minute 10 km. It had a 300 foot hill at the end . But just a lot of interval training sessions 2-3 mile repeats and so on! That's awesome! What's the goal time?
@@yani.leigh. with your 2 to 3mile Intervals what pace or heartrate were you aiming on like marathon pace or half marathon pace or lactate threshold long Intervals?
Wore these shoes for a half marathon two days ago managed a time off 1:28......outstanding shoe!!! I did have to go a full size up due to the narrow fit
I realized that while I was editing! Some of the video corrupted and I lost the majority of clips referring to the shoes. So I put the vaporfly 3 in the thumbnail and title to compensate. Sorry it wasn't more clear!
I ve actually very much enjoyed them for slower stuff. But one thing is that they are more on the firm side and definitely have more ground feel. The energy return and responsiveness are A+ but if you're looking at something a little more soft, I definitely would recommend something else!
I went true to size but I wish I went a half size up! Toes are right at the end of the shoe which is fine on the flats but the second youre going a touch downhill, it's very noticeable
@@yani.leigh. Thanks Yani, how are you today? it will be great choice I think! Cause the price in my country is quite good, 170$. Also, I have watched your review of Adizero SL, do you prefer SL or Puma Velocity Nitro 2?
hey this is kinda random and might sound dumb but so I just starting looking into the alphafly series and so I heard when nike first announced it.. the shoe had 3 layers of carbon plate flows but then was later banned from world athletics and later on announced a black and green colorway that had 1 carbon plate instead. My question is that do you know if these purple colorway are part of the 3 carbon plate or the singular carbon plate?
Not a dumb question at all haha, Single! The one that was questioned and had multiple never made it to market so any alphaflys you can purchase all meet the world athletic standards which is 1 carbon plate and a max stack height of 40 mm!
Congratulations for Boston! It is amazing that you were able to run a 2:55 Marathon with shin splits!I bought the prime x a few months a go and I must say it's excellent, apart from the upper maybe, I use them for fast long runs during my sub 3:00 Marathon program. I think the strung have a better upper but the price is to high for me
Thanks Chris! How's the sub 3 program going? Oh it's absolutely outrageously priced. No chance I would touch that price range again unless I was in the same situation. 100% the most fun I ve had running though , that shoe is the definition of cruise control !
@@yani.leigh. not so great. During my last 2 attempts (last April and April 2022) I experienced muscle cramps on my left calf . That didn’t stopped me but I finished in 3:14 and 3:07 respectively. The closest I came to my goal was in November 2021 when I ran a 3:04 marathon.
Hi Yani, great video! Congratulations to Lisa-Marie on smashing her new PB in the half marathon as well! Sending best wishes and positive thoughts that your injury rehab continues to go well. I have the song you use on your video opening "Raise your Shoes" by Splasher on all my playlists now and every time it comes on I am reminded of your journey to running and it motivates and inspires me, thanks for sharing! All the best, Scott
Hey! Unfortunately I have not. I've heard really good things about it though. I typically stay away from the gel as I find typical foam is lighter, soft and more responsive while running. But thats just me! I have heard they do fit quite narrow though so if it is something you're looking at, definitely worth trying on or having a good return policy with!
Really good review. I think your line about it "having a good natural feel to it" caught my attention. I've been considering getting this shoe because it is more firm and I like that. There are so many of those marshmallow, stacks of foam mid soles out there which I don't like. This seems like the Escalante with more stack height, perfect. Thanks for the honest review.
Dude where you been man missed you, vlog more! Damn good time for Boston under your health and weather conditions your way faster than that cool. I can tell you got the goods to run a fast marathon take care of patella tendonitis and kick some ass you got this, congrats again.
Thanks Thomas! I missed making vids too it's just been a whirlwind month but getting everything going again, legs feeling better! I appreciate that big time! I feel like sub 2:50 is absolutely in the cards this year and I'm going to keep trying!
Great review Yani!! super happy you were able to finish and get a great time. I know we talked about the Asics Metaspeed sky+ and how much you liked those. Do you feel like these adidas were better than the Asics? I am really looking for my race day shoe and have been going back and forth between the both of them for my sub 3 marathon in September of this year. Congrats again man!!
Thanks Steven! I know.... The metaspeed sky + is absolutely class but every time whether it's my training block , race sims or anything i tend to always reach for Adidas first. If not, it's typically to put miles in for a different review. Prime x strung is far and away the most fun I ve had running in a able, the adios pro 3 is going to be my next marathon racer as it's feeling isn't far off and it's race legal. For me the metaspeed sky + unfortunately keeps moving down the list a bit and for no other reason than Adidas seems to work very well for me this year!
@@yani.leigh. I gotcha man, I have heard they are great shoes but feel aggressive under foot, The pros at least. I have also heard the endorphin pro 3 are amazing as well. I just do not know who is going to take my money lol!!!
Haha what a great problem to have! I actually find the Adidas pro 3 s softer than the endorphin 3. The upper on the Saucony is more accommodating though and it's a touch lighter. Adidas upper (apart from the strung) needs to be dialed in more , but once you get it, it's perfect. What are you doing your speed work in right now ?
@@yani.leigh. Currently in endorpin speed 2's and when its a brick or tougher day I use vaporflys. But I try to stay away from carbon unless I absolutely have to use it
Solid review and congratulations on 2:55 for Boston Yani! I ran the Bend Marathon this last weekend in the adios pro 3 and they were smooth! Really enjoy the insight and detail of the videos. Peace
Nice work! How do you think this shoe would be as a tempo/race option for someone running 2:00-2:10 half marathons and 5/10k during triathlon? Most of my running over the last decade has been in the ghost and ride and am looking for something faster but still comfortable. Thanks!
It's a fantastic shoe for a half , I ve taken it over that distance many times and loved it. It's definitely going to be lighter and have a faster feel than the ghost. Once broken in , I find the foam more comfortable than the ghost as well. It's also probably the only Adidas I would recommend for anything triathlon as it's by far the easiest upper to put on. If you're not to concerned about putting your shoes on as fast as possible in a tri , the Adidas takumi sen is an unbelievable option as well
I would say absolutely . It depends on what you're looking for . This one will feel more firm out of the box and I would not consider it "soft" at any point, but it limits impact quite nicely.
