Born in 1980, I can remember when I was in my early teens my dad taking me to Dicks Sporting Goods and you could get a brick of Remington Thunderbolts for $11.00 and when they were on sale they were $7.00. That was $7.00 for 500 rounds. That is basically one and a half cents per round.
They have a top-break model with a longer stock, and chambered in .22wmr. With a 4-inch barrel that very small device could crank out some serious velocity.
I don't think I've ever fired a whole brick of Remington Thunderbolts. I tried a couple of boxes many years ago, and they were so bad that, once I stopped puking, I never bought any more.
The reason they didn’t go with a 358 bore is because they would have to shorten the case which would make it not legal for hunting in restricted hunting zones that require a straight wall cartridge, that’s why the made to the round to begin with so it makes no sense to go a tiny bit bigger for more reloading variety on a ammo that’s already cheap
Hate to be the Debbie Downer but clear gel isn’t FBI protocol and the bullets don’t react the same as human flesh. It’s a nice medium to see but not realistic or used to simulate what the bullet will actually do in self defense
Why use ANY 147gr 9mm? Slowest, least energy of ANY 9mm load. How about 9mm 115gr JHP at +P+ pressure--gives MORE than 400lb/ft of energy--critical when you start from short barrels. And for both .40 and .45, you chose the heaviest loads for each caliber. Try 155gr .40 JHP and 180gr .45 ACP in +P variety? Way more energy, more ability to STOP which is more important by far, rather than survival. They, all three, give you MUCH larger temporary wound cavities, good for rapid incapacitation/stopping! Bought a Keltec PMR-30 a few years ago and I was impressed enough to daily carry it for a couple years. Having 30+1 rounds of 22 mag in a pistol is definitely a plus but my favorite thing was the low recoil allowing you to put several accurate shots in quick succession. Got a flash reducer because in low light situations it would be like a camera flash in your face without it and having a little more length on the barrel itself didn't hurt. Carry a XD in 45 ACP now so definitely a swing in the other direction but still has 15+1.
I hear ghat the clear ballistic jell is not as effective in duplicating a bodies composition as the more expensive/professional FBI utilized jellies. 🤷🏼♂️🫡
It’s a shame you didn’t also test them for decibel level, well you’d need a suppressor for that, but that could be a cool idea since you have all this ammo

got a Marlin 60, bought it at Kmart circa 1979 when I was 14. Definitely shot over 8,000 rounds through it, yet it still runs true and the rifling looks brand new. Guess because it's only a 22, and I cleaned it after each outing???
