Emmy Predictions: Best Drama Series, Actor & Actress - For Your Consideration 

I'd watch this trio doing weather predictions. Great bunch, always engaging and entertaining!

Rhea Seehorn of Better Call Saul is one of most nuanced and well delivered female performance in TV in my lifetime and she has been overlooked for years and deserves all the attention for crafting this character which is fantastic.

GOT’s last season, which was much maligned by critics and fans alike, won outstanding drama series at the emmy’s that year. I don’t think Ozark will be missing out on the nomination just because the finale was a little lackluster.

Thank you, Scott. "Pachinko" is *the* drama of the year as far as this viewer is concerned and it deserves far more love and buzz. The writing, acting, editing, production design, direction (especially, Koganada's episodes) and cinematography, are just stellar. Talk about the problems of poor and oppressed people... WOW! And heart, so. much. heart. Can't wait enough for the second season.

In a perfect world, Better Call Saul would win Drama Series, Bob Odenkirk would win Actor and Rhea Seahorn would win actress but for whatever reason, the television academy doesn’t care for the show even though it’s now arguably better than Breaking Bad. They’ll get the nominations but not the wins. I’m sure it’ll be a Succession sweep in the drama category. Love Succession but Better Call Saul is on a different level, in my opinion.

Glad to see you guys covering the Emmys. I loved Severance, although it took 3 episodes before I was hooked. It’s one of those shows that improves with each episode and ended with a banger finale….one of the best TV season finales I’ve seen

I know it doesn't count towards this Emmy season, and it airing in June basically ensures it will stand no chance come next season, but I feel anyone that is a fan of these three guys and takes the time to read through the comments is someone worth recommending a show to anyways: For all Mankind is such an underseen gem. Last year the entire cast was giving Emmy worthy performances and the one episode it has under its belt this season, it has maintained that quality. It's very much character focused but the story progression is equally exciting. It's very well written and beautifully directed. And I don't know it it applies worldwide but the first season is currently available to watch for free. That's how much faith Apple has that once sampled, the show will keep its audience ;) Another note regarding Best actor: Also from a show that has no shot at the Emmys, but Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders should be at least in every conversation in the section of "snubs that make you upset". I love Bob Odenkirk in BCS, and I do like the Succession men, but Cillian should be winning every award. I watch considerable less comedies than I do dramas (basically only Ted Lasso and The Great, though I'm dying to watch Barry), but I'm looking forward to the next FYC episode!

The Good Fight was the first show on CBS all access which turned into Paramount +

It might be a lot of effort, but if possible, you should try putting up simple graphics on screen with your individual lists! Would make an already fun show even more so.

Also, Pachinko is the best, most moving, most meticulously crafted show on TV. Should be getting nominations across the board, especially for MinHa Kim’s heartbreaking and inspiring performance as Sunja

I would love for Mandy Moore to win. Her and Ron Cyphus Jones in The Train episode were excellent. I struggled with This is Us but glad I stuck with it, the ending was perfect. Mandy has come such a long way from singing about Candy in her green punch buggy but the 90s kid in me still loves her for that.

I watch a lot of tv and I can say with certainty that Pachinko is by far the best tv show of the year... I'm not sure why Apple isn't promoting it more. It deserves at least a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. I broke down sobbing in almost every episode. I'm sure Youn Yuh-jung will get a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

the problem I have with Emmy's is a lot of times it comes down to popularity and not performance. Example - Stranger things or Euphoria. I'm with Jeff in that it was as a good season but it didn't really do anything we haven't seen from the series before but because it's popular it might get a lot of wins. This year may actually lean towards performance, especially coming off of SAG so I'm hoping it's not going to just be more of the same.

Christina Ricci would be so much fun as a nominee for Yellow Jackets. She has such a great character and she rocks.

Rhea Seehorn and Sarah Goldberg should be nominated for Better Call Saul and Barry respectively, but they have a bad track record when it comes to snubs so...

Better Call Saul is arguably as good as or better, IMHO, than Breaking Bad. Long overlooked.

Better Call Saul is not a "spin off show." It's a prequel AND a sequel-- and it's one of the best shows of all time. Also- Season 4 Stranger Things was not only fantastic- but critical to the entire 5 season story. Not watching it and recognizing its greatness is similar to leaving at the 2/3rds point of a great movie. Furthermore, with streaming and cable shows now- TV has BY FAR-surpassed MOVIES in terms of overall quality. They should start including what they still call "TV SHOWS" in the Oscars.

My hopes are: Better Call Saul Season 6 Part 1 for Best Drama. Bob for Best Actor, Jonathan, Tony, Patrick for Best Supporting Actor, Rhea for Best Supporting Actress. Loki For Best Drama, Tom for Actor, Grant and Spoilers: Majors. Stranger Things Season 4 Vol 1 For Best Drama, Bower for Best Supporting Actor, Sink for Best Supporting Actress.

I'm with Scott, I absolutely loved Ozark S4. My Dad actually leans in Jeff's POV cuz he didn't like the last episode. But yea I think it tackled the theme of family and corruption in such a great and unexpected way. Subversive in all the right ways. And Julia Garner and Laura Linney are AMAZING!

The Boys and especially Anthony Starr should at least be nominated.

I predict Zendaya will get nominated and win for Best Actress in a Drama Series. It would be shocking if she wasn’t recognized for season 2 of Euphoria.

I'm an awards nerd in general, but the TV awards matter a little bit more to me than film awards. I like watching performances and creators grow and develop over the course of a series.

Also, reviews have dropped for She Said and they're positive. The leads in procedurals rarely (if ever) get nominated - supporting performances are much more likely to receive nominations : Jane Alexander, Jason Robards (win), Rachel McAdams, and Mark Ruffalo to name a few.

Better Call Saul is probably my favourite show right now, and I have been wanting Bob Odenkirk to win for every season, but let's be honest - it's not going to happen. He has deserved it every year and has never been in the winning conversation. The Television Academy is clearly not watching this show closely. How "Chicanery" didn't win for Writing for season 3 is a joke.

Jennifer Anniston I hope Reilly and Coon get those 5th and 6th slots, I'm just not convinced right now.

Hey Y'All ! Do not ignore or dis-count 'the Gilded Age' . It has a sterling pedigree, as it is created and written by Julien Fellows, he of 'Upstairs Downstairs ' fame. And the majority of it's headlining Cast are award winning Broadway Veterans. And the show speaks to the same economic disparities present in our current nightmarish state, which some describe as a "new or second Gilded Age"

Severance was the best series I’ve watched in 2022, followed by Succession, Squid Game and Winning Time.

I agree with Jeff on final season of Ozark. I wouldn't nominate the show or the actors (but I know they will). The Good Fight has never caught on but deserves to, hope Baranski has a chance since Actress is not as crowded this year. Mandy Moore is totally deserving, really rooting for her, she owned the final season. I'm glad The Gilded Age finally got mentioned at the end, it deserves to be in conversation (and I'm a guy, Jeff Lol).

Regarding Ana de Armas, she is magnificent in Blonde but the reviews for the movie itself have been poisonous. She'll definitely receive some #1 and #2 votes but whether she gets enough of those to make the final 5 remains to be seen. But it truly is a heroic performance.

Does anyone think Bridgerton S2 could get any nominations? S1 got Drama Series and Actor.

Question, where is the line drawn between "lead" and "supporting" actor/actress? Because in my view Millie Bobby Brown is a lead actress in Stranger Things. I know in the past she's been nominated for best supporting actress in the past but I don't really understand it.

I have heard whispers that they might category fraud Mulligan into Supporting Actress. Gosh I hope not because Samantha Morton and Jennifer Ehle are getting great notices.

It might not happen, but I want Loki to at least be nominated for original score, production design, cinematography and visual effects.
