I used to be so nice to ppl because I wanted to be friends with them. I was the type of person that would never say no to anyone. They used and abused me so badly especially in college. The truth is ppl don't want you to be too nice to them. They will look down on you, treat you like a doormat, laugh at you and leave you. I learned the hard way. I'm a really caring person and it's hard for me to say no but I've really learn that it's okay to say no.

I’m in such a weird spot. This girl I’ve known half my life turned out to be the most jealous toxic friend I’ve ever had. And now she’s trying to put the whole blame on me after I’ve cut her off and she’s telling people I abandoned her. There was nothing to abandon. We were never truly friends.

Ive just cut off a 8 year friendship with 4 girls since they’ve just been having secret group chats without me and for months talked shit about me, not seeing their wrongs if something hurt me and wouldn’t say sorry. I confronted them with how I felt but they still take me as a joke of the group and don’t respect me with how I feel even though I’ve helped them with anything possible. It hurts knowing I’ve had to cut them off since I knew them for so long but I’m sure it’ll get better now their gone out of my life. Thank you for the video it’s helped me a lot ❤️

I’m the type of person that cherishes my friendships. I’ve been hurt a lot by friends and I’m trying going forward to not share my business so quickly because I feel that is the first thing where people can take advantage of you. They figure out your weaknesses.

Don't overestimate your importance to other people. I've been so good to people who didn't deserve me, people who backstabbed and trampled over me in a split second. I no longer concern myself with such people... To get my love, time, attention, energy and loyalty, you will have to work for it, if you can't be bothered, I can't be bothered about you. Trust that I will use that love up on myself and relish every drop!

Had a "friend" for 13yrs she invited me to the full wedding but I must admit I thought she would ask me to be a bridesmaid ... she always called me one of her best friends... deep down I knew it wasn't true but the moment I started confiding in her as a best friend I realized it wasn't a true friendship. And yes, it hurt more than I could have imagined. I think I was more frustrated at the fact that I allowed her to define our friendship instead of sticking to my initial gut feeling... I drove 5hrs to her wedding, brought her a nice gift and honestly, I'm done... farewell...I wish her the best... we live and we learn.

How to deal with fake friends: You don't

This vid made me cry. I broke up with my "closest" friend 2 weeks ago. For me she was my "ride or die" friend. I was there for her every night and day...but slowly I realized that she was really using me as an emotianal trash can and took a lot of my energy and at the end she insulted me like hell...that was a hard lesson. I always get the really hard ones but everything is good for a reason and I am always positive. i wish her all the best because my heart is pure and i am glad I slowly get my energy back for myself....@Breeny Lee : you are great, keep up what you are doing, thanks for sharing these words...

OMG the wedding thing happened to me too! Lifelong friends that I grew up with did not have me at their weddings and a friend that I've known for 1 year invited me to their wedding!!! And it was gorgeous!!

I love this topic. I cut off a friend of 15years (it’s been a year) and I don’t regret it. Friendships need to be taken as serious as a relationship with a man/ women to be honest. I am a woman who truly appreciate and value friendships. I had to step back and take the back seat to alot of stuff... The same women, I've lost jobs over, would do anything for, are the same women who wouldn't lift a finger for me. And I was so blind because I was so niieve and in love with them. When I hit rock bottom and went through something so deep ... Everyone disappeared. And it gave me enough time to reflect. I realized they kept me around for what I can do for them. I was so in love with my friends. But I've learned so much. I stop answering calls, text, and for a moment, actually started to feel bad for stepping back. Like I had to pray on it. I was so used to being so loyal so available. .I'm talking childhood friends. But I dont feel bad now.. If we cant add value to one another. I'm out! Also I was tired of drama and negativity. It’s sad that I thought that my “friends” from elementary were type 3 friends but they definitely showed their true colors after I glowed up a bit and started to elevate I’m my education/career. They turned into type 1 friends then fizzled out into type 0 friends. They were very toxic and they mad me feel terrible hanging out with them and I just couldn’t do it anymore... taking advantage of my kindness, talking about me behind my back, and everything else you could think of. I've been through that as well .. Friends can make you change your behaviour. It's even painful when they treat you differently in front of people. I personally never felt loved by my friends and that's just it. The pain built the "I don't care " mood in me. It made me learn how to enjoy my own company and mind my business.

Watching some of your old videos and it's crazy how much the wedding story resonates with me and how often it happens these days as I've gotten older. I remember having a good friend/teammate from college, and when she got engaged I was one of the first she told. I couldn't wait for the wedding. A year later, I wake up on a Sunday morning to see on Facebook that she had her wedding that Saturday night beforehand and invited all our friends/teammates except me. And I had to find out on Facebook of all places. I learned that day where I stood in her mind and that apparently our friendship meant a lot more to me than it did to her. You really find out how someone feels about you when their wedding comes around😅

It's tough because most people feign ignorance or are just that aloof and oblivious they don't see your pain, they don't see how they are hurting you. It's even tougher when it's family. my so called “friends” never care about how I feel when I talk about my feelings. i would tell them that I felt like I was going through rock bottom and that I felt like some of my other friends leave me out of things, or don’t even like me when I’m there. they would just listen and either talk about something else and slide my feelings away or talk shit about that person and later on be the best fucking friends with them. I would talk to my friend who’ve I’ve known the longest about this new person who comes into our group who seems to hate me and only wants to be friend with the “popular kids.” She’d agree with me in that time but in front she’s her best friend and the next thing is. THEY HANG OUT ALL THE TIME. the clout chasing friend, the old time friend, and the fake friend, all hang out together and it’s just like ?? didn’t y’all just BARELY talk shit about each other to ME and then act like nothing happened?? We have five people in our group but out of the five, those three people are all fake to each other and I don’t know how to deal with anything anymore. I can’t even talk to people comfortably anymore or make new friends bc I’m just not comfortable speaking to anyone since I’ve been around these three snakes. Thank you Breeny💗 This is something I’ve learnt over the years and not everyone deserves your friendship. I’ve given some friends a second chance and once they did something unforgivable like stealing off me was the last straw. Nothing more hurtful than being betrayed by your friends. Hard to know who to trust sometimes.

I am so glad that I realised thanks to Breeny that it wasn't just in my head. I've been a class colleague with this girl for 8 years, always having a good laugh whenever we spent time with each other. Ff after highschool, somehow we became closer. Ff aprox 2 years later till this day, I thought she's my best friend and I closed an eye whenever she was gossiping too much thinking I do the same sometimes (but not as bad as she does to be honest) and we all have flaws as humans. I closed an eye whenever she was making faces like she's fussy or disgusted with me, thinking that she still has a pure heart and good intentions. Two weeks ago she told me that she knows it doesn't sound that nice but she would never give a kidney to someone in need, but to her parents only. It made me realise that I was giving much more than she was in general, she has a pure heart and a smart mind, but she's not on the same page with me. She's not mature enough to have open talks, to accept opinions that contradict her, unless I drop it. I realised that if the girl I call a bestie wouldn't be there for me, while I would in the worst situation, then I can't actually count on her.. And what is the point? I became more selfish with my time and now I am thinking only if I want to do what she wants, just like I feel she does. Since then she's less stuck up and we stuck to only having a laugh. She also chose to not visit me where I live in England, even though I offered to pay her the plane ticket to come, but she bought herself one to go to London to someone she didn't speak constantly and in a while. Actions speak louder. I also realised how much I tried to lift her up while she's so insecure and anti social and doesn't even want to work on that, while she pushed me to follow my dreams in a shallow way like almost even a stranger would. And I just switched my attention to people that encourage me to be myself, they inspire me, I have real talks, open talks, without feeling like I have to bite my tongue, I feel more confident and happy that I can count on this people and it shows. They are slightly less warm and fuzzy but they are definitely there whenever I need them to be and yes, I am the same. Thank you this was my TedTalk and I encourage anyone to give up investing in people who don't do the same and honestly, whenever I cut or just stop investing that much in someone, every.single.time someone else appeared in my life out of a sudden - laws of the universe work indeed.

I find it so disappointing that I'm always willing to put my all in friendships even more in a relationship than a man because I feel that I can connect better with women but it's so disappointing how fraudulent women can be even when you show them loyalty
