I know that depression can be different for everyone and on some days I absolutely don’t feel like doing my makeup but sometimes it helps in order to not lay back into bed. I find myself struggling with coming up with motivation for those things but it always helps me to watch grwm videos on RU-vid

I recently reviewed my own finances last week and we should be doing that regularly to stay on track, you'll be surprised at where your money is really going and now at almost 30, I'm just focused on managing debt and saving more for the future. But you don't know where you are until you force yourself to look at your bank account lol

This was so helpful. I make 10 times the money I made a year ago, and even though I've saved a lot and don't have debt, I still spend 90% of what I earn on shopping. It's like my mind tries to find where there are "gaps" like if I supposedly need something to decorate my living room, or new athleisure, or a new bracelet because my arm is looking empty, and stupid things like that to justify my spending. I also hide all the packages I get on the mail. I will throw the boxes away before my partner will see them... Just this month I was feeling like I had "extra" money because I got paid a little bit more than I usually get paid, and I decided to buy a Cartier watch right then and there. I didn't even had a Cartier watch on my wishlist or anything. 🥵 It was really eye-opening hearing someone speak about how you can have a shopping addiction without having debt. I was always justifying my shopping habits because I have enough money to live and save. But still spending thousands of dollars every month on STUFF is so stupid. I need to stop.

It really inspires me to do my midyear check-in i don't often coment on youtobe, and I have been watching you journay since start of this year, and i see that i was worth it to subscribe. I love seeing you accomplishing your goals from the begingin. in the same time as i do it. I had a bit of hard time this couple weeks accomplishing some of my goals but I'm back on track, I think rn is the best time to do check in with my long term goals, and do a vison board. ps english is not my first language

@@cafewithmonicaFrom my reflections, I realized that I need to give myself more time to rest, both after work and throughout the day. I was surprised to see that my goals were very general and descriptive. I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to accomplishing them, as they focus on my mental health, taking breaks, and reducing my screen time. The other goals that I think about more often are writing a book and learning English. I have been putting a lot of pressure on myself, expecting myself to not use my phone and to just follow my evening routine. I hope that at the end of the year, I will be able to tell you how it went.
@@pawe7315 I always tell my clients instead of telling yourself not to do something like be on our phone tell yourself what you are going to do instead because our brain just naturally wants to rebel and do the thing we don't want it to do! hope that piece of advice helps. It looks like you are killing it and being mindful of your goals some days are going to be days we do our best and others we may not do so well and its okay as long as we can jump right back at it the following day.
I do spin class and I enjoy it, but I want to try reformer Pilates soon. For spin I usually just take what I want from the instructor’s suggestions and leave the rest, it makes it a more enjoyable experience for me!

Fellow therapist here, I started my Invisalign in January to correct my bite too! 🥰I had the lisp too. My solution was to take out the top one during sessions and I leave the bottom. Then I pop the top one back in between sessions. I know it’s not the recommend time. But this works for me.

As a school psychologist who has her own trauma I started EMDR about 6 months ago and it has been life changing. Thanks for providing this video so that I am able to share it with families that I work with that I feel their child would benefit from a different approach than talk therapy.

Hi Monica, I am curious, what else did you do when you switched from Vocational Rehab to Mental Health counseling? I am finishing up my program next year and I leaning towards more mental health but I also am still very committed to Vocational Rehab. Would love to hear your advice :D
During my grad school, I did do some classes in the mental health counseling degree because there were classes that were not offered with my rehab counseling degree at the time. The only other thing I did is pursue my lpc license and got a lpcs that could approve my hours at my job. I did vocational rehab for the state for two years and that’s how most of lpc hours were obtained because I had a lot of 1 on 1 client time. Hope that helps I do have a video on how to become a therapist were I may have given more tips ❤️
@@cafewithmonica Thank you so much! :) I know in 2022 when the program got re-evaluated to include mental health classes as part of the Rehab program, the school opted out of it. I will definitely look into this :)
