Hello everyoneeee This is Barbs, and this is my first time joining this community :) I'm an Italian girl living in Italy, but ever since I can remember I have always been fascinated by English language.. so, guys, I apologize for my accent in advance.
When it comes to learning about foreign LANGUAGES and CULTURES -passionate girl here!!- RU-vid is definitely a great resource. I mean, you get to watch real everyday life literally from all over the world...that's pretty awesome right?
So I asked myself: "Why don't you jump on board and show something about your AUTHENTIC UNEDITED ITALIAN LIFESTYLE, too?!"
Well, as you can see, I thought it would be really nice to share the little things with you. I'm happy to meet you guys, COMINCIAMO!
LOL 🤣 I would actually like to try at least one slice sooner or later.. but I'll obviously never admit I said that, cause I care about my citizenship 🤣
@@barbs. I messed up so badly that I fear they may reject my citizenship application. I need to find a sweet Italian girl whose grandma will adopt me and teach me to cook properly.
Love your channel. I just returned from Rome a few days ago and already miss the food. Took a cooking class one of the restaurants offered, made our own fettuccini, ravioli, tiramisu, and ate it for lunch.
aaa nothing beats the excitement of testing out a new recipe, and then get to eat it afterwards 🤤🤌🏻 I'm happy to hear you had a good time and enjoyed the local food+all the specialties! Thanks a lot for leaving a comment 🌻
This was great thank you Barbs, like I need an excuse to cook more pasta. If anyone is also in the US, you can get Guanciale at wholefoods and if you're on the east cost Wegmans.
I totally lived off Spaghetti alla Vongole when I was in Venice. At home I usually cook Pasta alla Salmone with plenty of lemon juice in with the salmon. Totally going to research more pasta recipes on TasteAtlas grazie per il suggerimento!
My take is vongole just *belong* to spaghetti -such a powerful duo, isn't it? 🤤 Salmon goes really well with pasta too, and I'm sure lemon juice is great for balancing out the flavors! What kind of pasta cut do you like using? Over here 'pennette al salmone' is quite the most popular choice 🐟 I'm super happy to hear your enjoyed!! Grazie mille a te per il commento 🎈
@@barbs. yes Vongole and Pasta is a match made in heaven! 💯 I did use Penette but unless the recipe traditionally calls for Spaghetti (Vongole, Ragu, Carbonara, etc) then now I tend to use Conchiglie Pasta instead. I love getting all the sauce and flavour trapped inside those little shells 😋
Uh thanks for the info about pupusas, I didn't know!! I'm super happy you enjoyed the video as well as our 'pov' on the whole food experience, I really appreciate it 🎉 Can't wait to go baack
That is such a great suggestion, thanks a lot!! A new video on pasta/pasta recipes is actually coming soon, but the signature pasta series is just next level 🤩 DEAL!
biscuit is a french word = biscotto in italian and both mean tiwce (bis that comes from latin) cooked (cuit, cotto) in this case baked because usually (not always) you have to bake them twice to achieve the crunchiness
P.s. come to the Jersey Shore! I think you would like spending time in ocean city and cape may. The ocean city board walk is sooo much fun. A good time to go would be end of may or early june. Before the crowds come :)
You're right, I was so sad I couldn't find time to go check it out!! Oh well, I guess this means sooner or later I'LL HAVE TO go back, and film a whole dedicated video! DEAL. 🤠🪐
That's a great video idea, thanks for your suggestion!! My lifestyle has changed a lot since I last filmed this, so I'd say a general update is indeed more than needed 🪐
Happy birthday 🎉 We have the same thing in Iran, it's called نون خامه ای It means creamy bread That's wonderful how different nations have some similarities
True!! It's amazing how cultures/traditions often share some common ground, especially when it comes to food 🤩 Would love to give that "creamy bread" a try! Thanks a lot for leaving such a lovely comment 🎈
