Hi, I'm Paul 🏴 Scottish ultra runner based in Glasgow. I hope you enjoy my videos documenting some of my trail running adventures. Currently I'm working my way through all of Scotland's Great Trails and making a video of each!
@@TheRandomRunner Apparently the algorithm works in your favour if you get more subscribers. You see alot of people's channels really jump after 10k and 100k. I know for one I don't have the time to get to that level! Running content is pretty niche too 🏃
Yeah I made the video for Instagram then thought be good to post on RU-vid, but it was 1.30 mins so tried speeding it up, 1.5 times, just kept the pitch the same so I didn't sound like a chipmunk!! 😂
Wow mate!! I'm buzzing for you... this is going to be epic! Oh and for the record I always can't wait to see the videos of your adventures haha. They are hugely inspiring mate. Looking forward to seeing you bring your A GAME this year! Oh and you'll probably need someone to edit your vlogs lol...... HMU 😂.
Hey Paul, loving the sound of the second half of the year, some awesome runs planned, certainly something to look forward to seeing. Wanted to say thanks for the Cape Wrath tips, since I saw you at the National Running Show in Jan I completed both the Arc of Attrition and Cape Wrath Ultra. Your insight to Cape Wrath was helpful in prep. Great Glen Way in August which is going to be awesome. Happy running.
Very well done man! 👌 Great Glen is def on the list, and would be good to do the race... Maybe that space I've got in August!? 😉 Think unfortunately one for next year! All the best!
Wow,that will take some effort Paul, think pro's would struggle with that schedule, without having to fit you work and family time in, good luck with it all m8👍
I use a Garmin Fenix 6X. Battery life brilliant! Although I wasn't using maps on this run, I just finished an ultra at the weekend, had maps running the whole time and still had 60% battery after 12 hours!
I can't help but smile when I watch these vlogs you produce mate! Very entertaining and relatable. But terrifying at the same time haha. Well done to you and the team. What an epic adventure.
Cheers mate! For the first time in quite a long time I was out my comfort zone, navigational skills need worked on.... Or just stick to races I can follow my watch 😂
Looks a great event. Wonderful team effort to get round. I was on the Lakes Traverse that weekend, so can fully appreciate the conditions! Well done to all.
well done mate, that was an epic challenge and your portrayal was inspiring. i found myself clapping when you got to the finish. go and put your feet up you deserve it 🙂
Fantastic mate! I've had this on my watch list for a week or 2 now. Glad i got the chance to watch it. Great wee adventure in true Random Runner Style. Well done mate!
Brilliant! It's a nice and varied route, with plenty opportunities to fuel up in all the towns it passes through. Hopefully you get a run of dry weather before otherwise certain bits can be pretty wet underfoot! Good luck!
Haha, well I guess it's funny the things you miss when you don't have them! Take it from me... Thoroughly enjoy that LA weather, it's been rotten here!!
@@TheRandomRunner it's relatively new. And many sections don't have an actual path on them, so a little planning is needed. But it's a great way to see the West Mainland of Orkney (and separate island of Egilsay).
Fantastic video as always! 😄 love watching your adventures. Looking forward to seeing you tackle the Great Glen Way at some point 😄 Keep up the awesome work!
