I'm an average guy who enjoys ultrarunning, spending time with my wife and two kids, and daydreaming about all the adventures I want to take part in!
I love running ultramarathons, and I'm always searching for videos of races I'm signed up for. I was often disappointed in the videos I found, so I decided to record my own and share them for others to do some course recon, or just go on an adventure with me.
You make some of the most wholesome ultra running content on social media. Seriously. Just so down to earth and honest. I feel like you’re my big brother showing me the ropes and the enthusiasm is contagious. Such a great vibe!
Appreciate you sharing. Our youngest had some behavioral issues too….it can get better and most likely will if you continue to parent as best you can. Step by step just like any run on an ultra.
You Sir deserve waaaay more subscribers! I simply love your enthusiasm! Got my first race coming up in December (Hmong 50): Super pumped about it! Thanks for the knowledge and especially, the positive vibes!
I stick to 5/10k's, I've only ever done a half marathon max distance, but I know one thing. Running sea level on flat land is significantly easier than running in the mountains. Lol Good luck, marathon runners are inspirational. You have to make it out to the Rocky's in Colorado. Pro's go iut there for elevation training. Or try one of those crazy running masks that asphyxiates you. x_x 🍻
1) So glad to see you looking and feeling better mentally! 2) The Vlog series is awesome and i look forward to watching each one 3) I think the format you used for this Vlog was perfect....informative, succinct, and fun. Well-done! Will you be defending your "Belt" at the Tampa Bay 100 this year?
You: Do you know what i do for upper body strength? Me: a pull up bar in the kitchen door?? You: A STEEL MACE!! 😂😂😂 I just had a similar self imposed DNF. I was going for my first 100k, and had an earlier broken foot i was recovering from, so i just phoned it in and didn't put in any effort into training. Now I'm on fire and ready to kill my next race. Looking forward to following your journey to awesomeness while i strive for my own "best".
Great video. I appreciate your vulnerability and transparency. Currently training for my first ultra. I am on the waitlist for this one and the Tampa 100. your videos have been very helpful thus far. Thank you.
Love the format of this video, killing it Mike! great vid! random observation - it's strange seeing you run through your neighborhood on a nice looking evening and not see a single other person out...that's so different to my area, there are constantly people out cycling, walking, jogging as long as there's daylight! I imagine that makes it tougher to get out when there's nobody else to wave to haha
Nice video, I'm waiting on my 1st pair of Prios right now. A slight critique, if I may - you mention lock laces and how much you like them, but fail to mention which ones you use or provide any link for those. It would have been helpful. This way, people who have or are getting these shoes can actually get the perfect-sized lock laces for their shoe. Otherwise, nice job.
I look forward to your videos! Love the race recaps, always super cool. Looking forward to the reviews on the mask and massage gun. Free stuff is the best!!
I think you are looking at product reviews all wrong. Sell out!! We want you to "sell out". If you doing more product reviews gets us more videos then get after it! The amount of money and time you have put into these videos, you would have to do 300 product review videos just to come close to breaking even. Get in there - they offer it, you take it! That's my opinion anyway.
👍🏃♂️🏃♂️ (if I may, with all the running you do and everything else in life being exhausted deep down to where “you don’t feel like yourself” is a real thing. Ask me how I know 🤪 you’ll be fine just don’t over reach. I’ve watch everyone of your videos- they’re great. I live in Stuart Fl in the winter and had no idea there were so many long races near there tell I found your channel. I even crewed a guy at Dupius this year and saw you running 😀
Considering doing the Tampa 100 this November for my first ultra. Currently running 3-4 times per week @ 3 to 7 miles per run. I need to implement a more structured plan. Helpful video, thanks!!
