Just caught your channel bc I am new to free motion quilting. I SUBSCRIBED! I found your info valuable, Also, your personality and voice are friendly and pleasant. I used to hv RU-vid channels too - it’s a lot of work! Thx for sharing your knowledge; I’ll be watching and learning. 👍
Thank you for this really comprehensive video, I’m just wanting to get started and you have been so helpful. I am not sure if ill be able to get the right kind of presser foot for my machine as it is a very old Husqvarna that I inherited from my mum, but I am hoping that a quilt festival near me might be the place. This is probably a really stupid question, but are quilting needles specific to the machine, or will any brand work in any machine? Thanks again!
Yup, I'm in the Tiny Orchard Quilts rabbithole...😍 It being several years later, my questions: are you still using the foot in preference to tried and true experience? How has it worn? Thank you for your exuberance and lightness--I'm coming back to sewing and quilting from a long hiatus and love having you play in the background!
Oh my; as a beginner, I absolutely love the ease of this and the design. Thank you for sharing. Now to go see if the free pdf download is still available. ;) Plus going to see ur instagram account. 😊
Doesn't polyester thread saw through the cotton fabric. It used to. That is why us older quilters always use cotton. Is polyester thread now coated with something to prevent this.
I loved your informative video… I had tried only a few but my sister directed me to APQS. I did buy a demo during COVID … not much sewing was going on. I got a Millie 26… I got with a 12 foot table. I was lucky .. blessed to have our detached garage turned into my she cave.. I didn’t get the computer as I wanted the personalized quilting that I enjoyed. I had an issue but APQS was awesome in getting me the part and I have had it for over 3years. They are also lifetime warranty. My first kind of long arm was a Juli on a wonderful grace metal 10 foot long frame with a bench along the bottom. I so loved my Juki… simply awesome machine, it was difficult to let it go but… it was the throat space you were explaining…soooo true. I would end up rolling back and fourth… flipping around my quilt, it was frustrating. I am not a business… I quilt my own quilts so was on the fence of did it make sense for me to invest. So that is the reason I went with a demo… it was completely warranted and I was less than 70 miles from a dealer. I have managed to do even my own part replacement with direction from them. Customer support is always great. With the tutorial videos I have even reset my timing when I had a bad needle break. You covered issues very well. I was happy to come across your video… it simply confirmed my choice and the reasons I had. Have a great 4th stay safe. I love my Millie❤
I just got back into quilting and found your channel on RU-vid on my bedroom t.v. Love your cheerfulness and your tutorials. I'm having back surgery on July 8th and during recovery will be catching up on your tutorials. Thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us!
Best feather quilting video I've seen. Detailed instructions on the iPad and sewing machine is so helpful. I know my feathers will look better from now on. Thank you
Cool design wall idea. My problem is I have so, so many windows (which I love and need for my mood), but very little wall space. I've been looking at portable stands, but this!? This I could put in front of my stair railing. Wish I could find one twice as wide, though. Thank you for sharing. The hunt for quilting organization always continues.
So it took me 2 lunch breaks to watch this, not to learn how it handles sweat and big muscles stretching the cotton fabric out all the time. how sweaty are these dogs? - no izzy -MMATOAD
Just found your channel today. I watched some older ones then this one. I noticed immediately that you had lost weight. 100 pound weight loss is nothing to sneeze at. Back in the 90's I worked off (and it is work) 35 pounds. I felt so much better. I hope you continue to put out videos. Hope to see you soon. Take care !!! ✌🏻♥️
This makes me miss even more a former local quilt shop that had bins of fat quarters arranged by color. The owner retired after almost 30 years and now my area is down to one small quilt shop. ☹️
Very good information!! I have struggled with a correct 1/4" seam allowance for years!!! Who would have thought that even which way you press changes things?? Thank you so much for the valuable lesson!!!
I am new at quilting. I do not have fat quarters but I do have fabric that I want to use. How do I get the fastest- leas waste cuts from 2 yards of fabric to get the sizes I need for this.
Love it! I saw a plus quilt on “The Last Homely House” with Kate & just got my card stock & cut out a bagful of templates. I just discovered EPP a few mos ago & currently working on my 2nd one, Tula Nova, which is about 3/4 complete. This is very fun & addictive!! 😬 Happy paper piecing! 😍
It is so good to see you again. Life has it's priorities and I'm glad you paid attention to that. You look rested and happier. I really missed your videos. Great block !!! Thank you.
Thankyou I’ve noticed when sewing 1/2 square triangles when joining them to smashing or other blocks there’s not anything left to keep points. I have blunted points!
