I am a beginner at sissy squats. Cannot go all the way down, just parallel to the ground but how do you make your knees go so low? I keep thinking I'm gonna fall over 😅. Not an easy exercise at all!!! Hopefully I can learn it

My left knee has been very sore when squatting. I bought a sissy squat machine and I felt zero knee pain while doing it. It didn't fix my knee but allows me to continue to work my quads while dealing with this issue. I don't understand why it doesn't hurt though because it looks like it puts a lot more pressure on the knees!

My gym just got the piece of equipment and I have been trying out the sissy squat but couldn't do it the right way. This video kind of shows me what I was doing wrong. Now, I just have to come to this content often till I get it right. Great clip.

Yes, he has a strong core, and yes this is a variation of a sissy squat- if done correctly- you will gain a lot , if done incorrect, you’ll get nothing out of it and possible injure your knees. Sometime in his video, he does master the sissy squat everyone is gripping he’s not doing. Just watch and learn - Jesus Christ!

Because the rectus femoris crosses the hip, if you flex at the hip whilst flexing at the knee with Sissy squatch bench, you are reducing stretch biased hypertrophy of the RF. You are better of loading the with the hip in the extended position to maximise RF growth

I appreciate what you are saying here but there are contradictions. It can be deduced that men can withstand more pain, and can endure more. This is often readily seen in real life scenarios. Examples would be things like army training, especially specific types of army units. Take for example infantry, para training, and rangers etc. The contradiction comes about because you have already pointed out that men will subject themselves to more initial pain. This comes in the form of selecting weights that are probably too much for them to endure reasonably. They are subjecting themselves to more initial pain. The women seem to endure more, but this is because they have not pushed themselves to the limit of pain, that men do. Therefore they can last longer... unless they are put to the test. Why is it that men will be well ahead of women in things like marathons? How many women can get through certain army training regimens? In a marathon, it is very rare for women to come in first, let alone second, or third, or... you get the picture. Men are stronger on average, but this also means they have a more densely muscular body, and hence a heavier body. When this comes to a marathon, it means more body mass to convey through an entire race, that is miles long.

No offence, I am from portalnd Oregon, so we're all about females being better than males. But 'females have more in the tank left over' is because they dont push as much. Right? What am I missing here? it seems to me, especially given the rest of what I hear you say, that you are making it sound like big dumb men lift much then die. Small smart women lift little then live. When neither of these are at all true. The unfortunate truth for all you women out there, that you should HONESTLY be very, very suspicious of when you hear a negatory against this is...men can lift much more for much longer. end sentence. Theres no fake attempting to get you on board BS here. If you take any college course THIS is the case. There will be people that try to convince you differently. They will convince you that you can do the same as the men. Unfortunately these are the same types that also want to convince you that you can live without food or water, and subsist on air itself. It's simply untrue. Ladies, dont fall for this. It's a guy trying to sell his gym, which I have no problem with, but he's cherrypicking certain things about women that make it obvious who his target audience is. Just to make it clear, women have higher pain tolerance, due to the fact they have to GIVE BIRTH, one of the most painful things a human can experience, and fuck you who took the epidural, you aint real women. Otherwise, women have lower every single other body capability. No if ands or buts. Literally, there is not a single other thing that women can take first in. Nothing. Literally nothing. Think on it, come up with things, still not first. That DOES NOT MAKE YOU SECOND RATE. NORE DOES NOT BEING STRONG MAKE YOU SECOND RATE CITIZENS AS THIS GUY SEEMS TO FEEL. It's not evil or bad to not be first. It's bad to not try. Don't let this guy get dumbass things in your head. Keep doing you, regardless of whatever anyone else does.

Superior if the speed tempo is slowed down to about 8 to 10 seconds not only going down ,but ascending going up also, transitioning from possitive to negative with smooth controlled grace and absolutly going to the very point of total macular failure keeping and embracing the constant stress on the quads not the hips...using the concentration of the relaxed face of someone like Bruce lee while under very high stress breathing fluently and going 5 to 8breps above of what the weak inner voice of the mind at that moment maybe vaginally telling , picturing tom platz trading quads but in slow motion ,a mixture of tom plays + Bruce lee with the testis of a Roman lion. Only one set , for the very best can only be one. To turn the growth mechanism on. Not 1/12 not 5 , solamente uno, picture the intensity of the 100 m final race at the Olympics done in slow freaking motion. The competitors strive for being 100th of a second faster than before , thou doing this strive to do more reps tan before till outer collapse no lip biting no showing stress on face, no uncivilized monkey sounds.

I don't feel these in my vom after trying them like regular deep squats, but I feel it in the dead center of my quads like crazy more than my regular squat.

I still feel it in my vom, but nothing like a heavy deep squat. I think the muscle I'm really feeling is the rectus femoris.

I'm 34, never worked out but have these perposterous traps since I can remember. It limits alot of my clothing options and my neck is also super messed up. In school our backpacks were very heavy and I think maybe that ended up causing them in part at least. Do these exercises make them go away?

I'm two years late to this but THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am a woman who has genetically large traps but they have also been recruited to compensate due to my poor form on other exercises, specifically shoulder exercises but I also tend to use my upper traps to stabilize my body during squats and the like. I've been looking for ways in addition to focusing on improving my form to help my upper traps from taking over. Going to try these next week!
